Type S rims vs Base

Hey guys, just wanted some opinions. What do you think looks better on a WDP TL? The 07/08 base rims or the Type S rims? I cant decide and was just wondering what you guys thought. Thanks

base rims!!!! eventhough u can change rims, that was one huge reason why i didnt get type S. Esp. for WDP base, cuz silver rims go nice with white. Type S rims has a dirty look cuz all the break dust.

i always thought about buying a type s and changing the rims and tail lights to base ones. it will be like a Type S in disguise.

THe type S rims remind me of a snowflake

Wall E is exactly right! The Type S wheels look better on a dark colored TL.

I took them off of my NBP, because they didn't "stand out" much. Over the weekend I put them on my wife's 06 CGP Accord V6, and they look great (IMHO). They totally transformed the look of that car. It will come down to what you like. After all, it's your car, so do what YOU think looks best.

I think the Type-S wheels show well on the WDP with the black or black/silver interior. Accents well and brings out the exhaust and smoked side markers.

Have you googled some images of both variations? That might help...

I love my base wheels. The TL-S wheels also can be painted what ever color you want, doesn't have to be gumental. I've done silver on a silver TL-S and it did transform the look.

Can't go wrong with A-spec's either.

I much prefer the base wheels over the Type-S wheels for WDP. I also prefer the base 04-06 over the 07-08 wheels. I considered the A-Spec wheels for my WDP 06, but decided on the 18" RonJon Insypres.

A-Spec > 04-06 Base > 07-08 Base > Type -S

Neither. Get a set of A-Specs.

I'm not a fan of the 07-08 Base or Type-S wheels whatsoever. However I think that the Type-S wheels should stay on Type-S models; a base TL doesn't look right with the TL-S wheels

I agree

You have a base, stay with the base wheels. If you are going to upgrade, upgrade to something worthwhile.

OP, instead of spending money now, save those pennies and get something that REALLY makes your car stand out from the rest of the crowd. I'm really impatient when it comes to things, but I guarantee it will be worth the wait.

lol @ the poll resuslt.

Poor OP wasn't sure and then gets a 50/50 split on the poll. Not much help.

I voted TL-S, but agree with the above - if you're going to upgrade, get something "better".

I definitely like the Type-S rims on WDP but like others said, if it's a base, keep it a base

If it's done right, they can look sharp. I don't know about other colors, but they go well with WDP. They look sharp in 18" size and provide a simple clean conservative (oem like) look compared to some of the wild aftermarket stuff.

Agreed on both counts, the Inspyres do absolutely nothing for me...the Legends on the other hand.

I'm a fan of the TL-S wheels...with a bit of a drop, I think they look killer on WDP or NBP. If they had only come in 18s, I wouldn't have gotten my A-Specs.

and THAT, i agree with. i did the same thing (a-specs) for basically the same reason. but i also didnt like how the center of the type S rims seems to not be lined up with the spokes as best it could. its like the center part has a half turn that makes it look off. that probably makes no sense the way i worded it but it always bugged me.
