Tpms

Hey guys, I need some TPMS sensors for my new to me type s wheels. Should I only buy OEM ones or can I buy other ones that are cheaper? Can someone recommend where I can find them for a good price? Contacted AckTL05, so waiting to hear back on his price. Thanks

And it makes no difference whether they're for stock 07-08 rims or Type S rims right?

If I were you I would stick to OEM, I wouldn't even know where to find aftermarket sensors. I bought a set for my new rims through a friend of AckTL05 and I paid around $130 shipped if I remember correctly. Here in Toronto, I was quoted $80 each from the dealer....yes we get hosed big time here... Anyway, both base and Type-S wheels use the same TPMS.

^if you're getting wheels mounted to tires they should not charge you anything to throw the TPMS on.

i got 4 wheels mounted/balanced/TPMS'd for $40.

$10 a wheel.

If you really want aftermarket sensors you can find them at tirerack or discount tires direct. It won't be listed on their website. Just call them and they'll give you the price. I think a set of 4 cost me like $100-120.

They are powered by the spinning of the tires as you drive.
