Toyo Proxy 4 tread pattern

Ok ive searched and searched im trying to find a picture of Toyo Proxy 4 side profile, so i can read if they are Asymmetric like the Toyo T1 Sports i currently have. I love my T1 Sports but because they are Asymmetric so i cannot flip them (tread desginates only outside/inside mounting). Trying to decide if i can Flip Toyo proxy 4's. I know your probably wondering why do i need to flip the tires, well its because of camber wear, if i can flip them i can get 2x the life of the tires.

Any close up pictures of the side of the tire would be awesome!

Yep your in luck

you can flip proxies from inside to outside. My lil bro ran proxe 4s on his GTS. Ahhhh the beauty of takin tires off wheels just to get the "look". Im in the club by just a hair LOL. I flip my tires every 4 months, you prob guna flp the every 2 months with ur camber!. (left rear to right rear, then front right to left right)

Only drawback is the possibility of rim scratching while mounting & un-mounting.

From what I have read and I used to have Toyo Proxy 4's on my Suby, they are a directional tire so you can only move them from front to back, not from one side of the car to the other.

Here is what I read, I guess this guy contacted Toyo about these tires directly http://www.g20.net/forum/showthread.php?t=38368

And just look at the tread pattern of the Proxy 4, all the V tread faces one direction, you can't flip a tire like that. Well you could, bet the tire isn't going to give you any kind of proper traction and it isn't going to channel water away if the tread is facing the wrong direction.

thanks for the info! not what i wanted to hear lol, might be going Nexen, General Tire, even Nankang, they are all tires which i can flip haha. Oh and as far as scratching rim due to mounting, i only have my tires mounted at VIP Modular, they have the newer center holding type tire mount, so nothing clamps to outside of the wheel lips.

Wait... I dont think he understood your question. I understand that you cant rotate from left to right while on the rim... just front to back, but you can un-mount and swap from left to right. The tires you curently have, T1 Sports, have a different tread on the left side than the right (on the same tire) Therefore not mirrored. The Toyo Proxes 4 ARE INDEED MIRRORED... see for yourself.

Here is a toyo proxe 4 (mirrored left and right from center)

Now for the sake of clarity... here is a tire that is not mirrored. Machine, you see how one side of the tire ALWAYS has to be on the outside.

This is how the T1 Sports are... though barely noticable the tread is not mirrored it is slightly different.

These are the tires I run

Man you really went into so detail on that on post Trio, lol. Good info though. Yeah the toyo proxy 4 is just a directional tire, tread is exactly the same throughout the entire surface of the tire. I guess you can flip them then as long as you keep the directional pattern going in the right direction, otherwise that's some bad news waiting to happen.

I think everybody is a little confused as to what the OP is trying to do. He wants to dismount and flip his tires so that the inside edge that has been camber worn can be remounted to the outside. You can't do this with an asymmetric tire because they have a designated inside shoulder and outside shoulder.

Yes, the Proxes 4 will do what you're trying to do.

these tires have LEFt and RIGHT marked on them.
I'm running these same tires on my S4.

without un-mounting you can swap front to back.
Left to right is possible but you'll have to un-mount them

well aint that some ish... LOL...

If it interests you, I run ATR SPORT tires... yea they are not name brand (yet?) but I have purchased 8 set for my fams cars over the last 3 years. Never had a blowout or bubbling. The tread wear is better than a nankang. Plus they are HERRA affordable.. My 245/35/20s run bout $90, Makes the camber wear hurt less :0)

This is good to know, I bought these for my TL. Obviously waiting until spring before I have them put on. How do you like the ride quality of them? Have they been noisy?

Dang I wonder how well these compare to my Hankook V4s (20s make me need something with good treadwear Hankook is 420 vs 400 on the ones you point out) and my rears are pretty much shot, I'd definitely rather pay $90 for a decent tire than $135 for the Hankooks, curious as to where you purchased them for $90?
