Tire sizing help...

I was planning on picking up axis pentas for my 3g 05tl AT. did so much research on here but everyone seems to have diff opinions on what size tires to get for

19x8.5 +45 frts, i was thinking 245/35/19
19x9.5 +40 rr, i was thinking 255/35/19

would those work? i am lowered about 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" with tein basics. no brembos to clear. i am trying to steer clear from rolling my fenders...

any help is greatly appreciated.

front should be good. consider 245's for the rear... I am running 245's on a 9" wheel. the drop is similar to yours, and I am not rubbing fender when the car is full. my rear fenders weren't rolled as well...

some guys ran 255's on the stock rim with no issues. the stock wheel is 8" wide with +45 offset. in your case, your wheel is 1.5" (38mm) wider. that would yield 19mm wider on both sides, which equals to a 8" wheel with a +26 offset. that would be close to rubbing with 255 tires, in additon to your drop.

i had a 9" wheel with a +31 offset running 245's, and i was rubbing in the rear while on a-spec suspension (only 0.75" drop).

as per one of the wheel whores on this forum:

A flush look--and by flush I mean the lip of the rim kissing the fender when slammed--with a 9.5" wide wheel would require a +28-30 offset up front, and in the back it would require +22-25, approximately.

This changes with different wheel widths but the numbers above are pretty accurate for a 9.5" wide wheel.

i am pretty sure the rear fenders were rolled, and he didn't even mention the tire size. for something like that, my guess would be something like 215's (i remember he told me he ran 215's on a 10" wheel...crazy dude). so basically you're not gonna run 255's on those wheels.

options:
1) if you're keeping the wheels, you can't use 255's. plus, you have to roll the rear fender, and run more negative camber.
2) do a different set of wheels.

that was very informative. i really like the staggered look with the pentas so i might move down to an 18x8 frt and an 18x8 maxis in the rear. 2 inch lip in the frt, and 3" in the rear that should solve my issues. i think 18's should be ok. and i don't have to worry about all that work with the 19's. i figured that you would need a badass negative camber to run such big tires in the rear; i still want the performance aspect and keep my camber at a decent number.

if they both have the same 'disk' specs, don't think you will notice the difference.
