From personal experience I wouldn't know the difference but type-s bushings would make it more stiff than base bushings.
I have a 08 type s and I installed the base bushings on my teins.

So hopefully someone here can answer. I'm going to have these installed soon here in Chicago. With the weather we have here and the salt on the roads, is there anything to be done to ensure they don't seize up or anything? I don't want to find out in the spring that I can't drop the height back down. Just curious.

Yessir - I was referring to the tophat bushings. Think I'm going with the type-s tophats new b/c I'm keeping all my stock parts in the unlikely event I sell the car or need to swap something out in the future... I like the security

Anything you put on the threads would likely HOLD the dirt. What I suggest is having a toothbrush or a brush with somewhat stiff bristles to brush off the threads before you make adjustments. I had a set of megans seize on me in the past and that ain't happenin again!

Thanks J. So only clean off threads just before I make adjustments then? Sounds easy enough to me.
How do you have yours set damping-wise? I'm looking for a close to OEM ride feel since I deal with some crappy roads here. I'll also be adding a progress rear sway bar, probably on the stiffest setting, but not 100% about that either.

Funny you should ask, for the last month, I've been adjusting and readjusting my height. Now, I'm back to being maxed (since it's a sickness and one must be as low as possible) and I love it.
I HAD it at 13 front and back (16 being softest) and recently started changing...4 in the front was too much, right now at 8 front and back and that seems to be a good happy place. Start softer and work your way back. After install, leave your rear seat outand drill those holes in your front sway bar. Start soft and go harder and harder till it feels right.
About the RSB...I had done street mode for a while, but it feels kinda "floaty" when all four corners react to a bump independently...I always end up going back to track setting.

Thanks to EAT and J. So it sounds like Eat keeps his right in between where J ended up, might be a good happy medium. And I think I will go with the track setting on the RSB. Seems like everyone likes it.
Of the crap I've taken apart from the car and put back together, the back seat is not on the list....yet. I'd like to start somewhere that I think would work and just let the shop put the back seat back in, but maybe that is wishful thinking.

So, order placed late friday night... Should get the new set up by this weekend/early next week.
I'm planning on installing at home with a friend - how much of a pain is taking out the back seat? Haven't done that one yet either... reason for concern? completely necessary?

EDIT: Sorry all, found the diy thread I was looking for and learned the seat removal process... Hopefully it goes ok, we'll see...
First time for suspension mods for my buddy and I - if anyone is in the Norfolk/VA Beach area and wants to help out let me know!

Backseat is easy...especially for me as I leave out that lower seat rear bolt that is a PITA to get back in. Also, I broke one of the clips so mine is a cinch to get out. I would HIGHLY recommend getting a pivoting 3/8" adapter to be able to get at the 2 14MM upper rear bolts, otherwise you have to remove the c-pillar covers and the rear shelf cover. You CAN avoid doing that.
About riding that low...honestly, I don't bottom out too often...the ride can be rough in Downtown or especially at South Beach, but we normally take wifey's car down there. It is maxed front and 2 threads showing on the back with camber corrected from the top arm front and back...ground clearance is really very good too...jpipe sometimes scrapes, but I made a steel slide that takes the hit for those rare occurrences.

Check, I've got one... Thanks for the tips Rockstar. Hopefully will be getting into the install this weekend or next week. Really hoping my bolts aren't too bad as I'm in Southern VA, but they were super tough when I put in the J-Pipe (had to cut them) and changed out my rotors (had to drill out all 4 mounting screws on the old ones....)
I did not go for a camber kit at this point, but I plan on starting with the "standard" 1.7" drop for the time being. I should be good without a kit for a while, correct?
Brand new tires, so I want to be a little careful.

Seems to be the trend, but I probably won't do it until I get a camber kit on there. Holding off for now - till the wallet fills up again. Still gotta pay for the RV6 system whenever the last of batch 2 is finished...

This is Josh, not Marcus.
We can get them for you but it's a waste of money. You can purchase them from www.acuraoemparts.com or you can just reuse your stock ones.
Do you offer the top hats for the TEIN Street Advance from your website? I'd like to purchase these bad boys and have them installed at a shop and would rather not hassle with removing and reusing my old top hats. I'd like to take them to the shop have them do the install and be on my way. What would the pricing be for the complete set?

for some reason when I see it, all the blood leaves my thinking head...
Sorry about that Josh. For some reason your avatars sometimes confuse me if I'm not paying full attention.
About the rear upper 14MM bolts...they are inside the car and will not be seized or corroded at all.
J.

Josh , forgive me but I'm a total n00b when it comes to suspension components. Could you explain to me how I go about these top hats. My car has 70k on stock suspension. Would it be best I reuse my top hats on the new TEINS? Also, I'm taking the car to the shop so would they have to remove the top hats from the stock shock and reinstall it on the TEINS? I'm trying to avoid labor costs at the shop so my logic is buy the TEINS with top hats so that they could do a simple install instead of swapping parts from component to component and charging extra for that.
