Measure from the wheel well to the ground. Rockstar (J) is at 24 1/4" I think.

Thanks for this review Eatsleeprace,
I just ordered a set, actually I've ordered a lot of stuff...aspec lip kit, teins, 19" work vsxx's, etc...my front porch is going to be busy =)

But cant wait to get it all squared away, I have a CBP Type S and I'll be changing to the base bushing too.
Thanks again,
Jaime

It's not that hard to do it with the parts already on the car though right? Just a little more time consuming?

Can't tell by measurements but no gap is what I ended up with....slight tuck in front...lol

I lowered it like three times before I decide this is the height I want ^^^up top....

Well yes,way more time consuming ...but from experience in my old 05 TL I re used my top hats and everything when I put new shocks and lowering springs..and it was only more time consuming

BUT

Monday night I was changing my friends shocks because his stocks were blown,he had tein s techs installed.....he wanted to save money so I told him only buy new shock bushings we will use your stock collars and washers..when I started taking the shock assembly apart...the collar was so rusted that it was stuck on the piston of the shock(couldn't use that) there for could not remove washers or the bumpstop......had to drop everything and go buy new bumpstops washers and collars at the local dealer..and all 4 shocks were the same problem....

Hey Eats,
Finally got around to installing my Tein Street Advance suspension and let me say I am very impressed and in love with the ride. Used the base TL tophat assembly and the ride is so smooth, better than my stock Type S suspension and now I'm on 19" rims.
I used your 10 clicks in front and 11 in the rear setting, but had to stiffen up the front a little because my tires were hitting the fenders, my fender roller is on its way and that should take care of that issue.
Here are a few pics with the wheels and suspension installed, I have since installed an Aspec kit.
So far I'm lovin' the car

I just like bragging about how good they are...lol

Lookin awesome, man...team TEIN all day long. Said it when I first installed in 2009 and still stand by that!

PS...spring determines how far up and down you will travel, dampening determines how quickly the car will rebound. Setting the ride to firmer shouldn't keep you from hitting fender, I think it just helps because it'll cause the shock to rebound faster when you do hit a bump.

EATSLEEP...have you seen that thread on cutting out the upper shock mount to be able to run the coils maxed?!? I did it and now the mystery is solved on why a few threads on the coils made the difference between a good ride and total crap.

I actually have seen that thread..but I'm not interested yet in cutting anything..lol

I hope to max them out once I get new wheels,I don't have much to go though as I only have 3thread lines left to go,

I'm trying also not to run much camber as I drive so much, from my to nj everyday for work

I'm at ALMOST oem spec camber with my upper camber arms...
I don't blame you for not wanting to cut...not worth it although I will admit that that last few threads does make a visual difference and with the little access cut for clearance, the car still rides very smoothly.

since you are a fellow NYC resident and with these impressions, i may have to pick these up for my TL-S.. however I don't like the fact that the car is lowered solely off the spring and its perches..

its either these or the ISC N1's

the teins cater to a specific market...the other coils are for going much lower and a stiffer ride.

J.

About the tails...I have depo and oem and they feel about the same to me...slightly different fitment but not too noticeable. I'm back to rockin my oem reds though...

Aftermarket type s light are like more chrome, oem are darker...

Hey twinspool, totally understand what your saying..but for maximum comfort there is no competition for these bad boys,
Isc n1 are good (from what people who have then) but can't ride softer than tein sa,said by excellerate himself

If you want more adjustability they might be for you,but I rather go with what's been proven Over and over

Very true.. and that is a plus since I dont plan on lowering the car more than 1.75 - 2"..

I was reading up a bit more on the N1's and a stiff ride is not what I want for the TL-S.. I leave that for the SC300.. where I only ride in that..

TL-S is a daily and comfort is the main function (over form).

Thanks for the review, definitely steered me in a clearer direction.
