Tein SS user come in!!! NEED HELP
I had a problem with the Tein SS suspenion. Is it normal when every time I go through a dip or high bump in the road that the suspension has a really loud noise which sounds like it has reached top? It sounds like the suspension hitting my car.
Just came back from my trip....
I am not sure, becoz installed that in a auto shop. And I tried to stiffening up the suspension but the problem is still there. Anyway thanks for you respond.
hmn... yet another issue with the tein ss. I've read in other forums and reviews that the damper goes bad fairly easy along with corrosion issues with that coilovers. I had considered getting the tein ss coilovers but it seems the more I do research the more i'm discouraged from it. Still sticking with the eibach or ksport coilovers for now i suppose. Do you have experience with ksport and eibach pros?
Try pushing down on each corner of the car and see if you hear any unusual noises. Notice any fluids coming from the shock body? Did you buy them new? Just like regular shocks, coilovers can also blow out and go bad.

I bought them new from a local auto shop. I think I cant hear any noises if I only use my hand to push down on any corner. I can only hear a huge noise when I go though a deep hole or high bump.....like the spring compress to the highest point of the coilover and hitting the car frame, which sounds like so horrible....

possibly they didnt tighten the upper bolts enough on the tower. or they've come loose. my girlfriend has basics in her rsx and they bolts supplied came loose we had to throw another one on top of it so it couldn't un-thread itself. otherwise the shop did not assemble them correctly.
I had a problem similar to this on mine when i hit some really bad rail roads going like 30. I felt like the car bottomed out. Just slowed down next time and I have no problems now

So I think there is not solution to fix it? Any professional guy can give us any suggestion?
not sure if it would be the same problem i was having but a lil after i installed coilovers i was getting a loud noise like you are talking about and it ended up being my motor mounts were bad i guess the stiffer suspension made it vibrate more when i hit bigger bumps but try checking the mount were the belt is that one seemed to be the worst for me
did u get it fixed yet?
is it in the front or rear? or both? I helped my friend install coils on a si sedan and we forgot to put the rubber .... spacer(?) in the rear and it kept knocking over bumps.

I had a similar issue but found it was the passenger side motor mount. A friend of mine who works at an Acura dealership said by the looks of it there was a high possibility that the mount was initially damaged when the powers steering hose recall was done and simply got worse over time. Apparently some techs forget to disconnect the mount from the motor when they lift the motor to gain access to the hose. I have Tein SS all the way down and have had no problems since replacing the mount.
I had this happen to me too after my suspension install but I replaced the tie rods in the back ( I think they are called sway bar tie rods) and the noise went away. That could also be the problem
How low are you? Any car that is very low will bottom out on certain bumps or dips in the road. Tein ss like any coil over has very short shocks and springs ( compared to the stock ones) which means there is very little travel when hitting large bumps. You may have them set way too soft. Remember these things are technically meant to only be used for racing ( smooth roads with no bumps). Ive had my ss for a little over a week now and have only bottomed out twice but it was unavoidable.
