TEIN Coilover consumers check in...

I was just wanting to get an idea of how many people are riding around on the TEIN coilovers, both the super street and the basics. I'm sure there are a lot of people on here with the teins.

Also, who has the most miles on them? So far i've got 81,000 miles on the super streets and haven't had any problems thus far. Amazing product if you ask me. I wonder when the struts will go bad...does anyone have any idea?

i have SS's w the EDFC. probably around 20K. no problems yet i don't think. i did however hit a huge bump a while ago and now i notice that when i have 5 people in the car, the right rear rubs a little. and i have ronjon legends. not really sure where it is rubbing, but i would assume its not the fender

I have 19,000 miles on mine and they seem to operate as good as they did when they were put on. I do notice one thing though. When I go over speed bumps the fronts squeak a little. The squeak sounds like it's in the strut, not from the spring itself. Any ideas?

I am riding on my TEIN Basic for 50,000 kilometers with no probs whats so ever. Knock on wood!!! I had these put in just 6months after I bought my new car. I couldn't wait and it is worth every penny spent on these coilovers.

Doesn't Tein have any kind of warranty on their product.

The TEIN dampers should last about 60-70k. Again it depends on how you drive and where you drive but that should be the average life of the dampers. TEIN can rebuild the dampers. You just send them into TEIN and they rebuild them. I want to say it is $50 a damper but to be honest I have never had to have a set rebuilt yet so I couldn't tell you.

I have TEIN SS on my 99 Accord; I had them on my 01 CL-S for about 10k and about 5k on my Accord with no problems. I just installed TEIN FLEX on my 07 Civic Si and they are great also.

The life of a damper depends on its quality and construction.

A Koni yellow is good for an EASY 100K miles of hard service and will essentially last "forever" in normal driving on good roads.

Bilsteins can also provide 100K+ mile service.

Tein brags up its quality, so their shocks should last longer than 60 - 70K if there's any real truth in their claims.

Bought used with about 10K miles, have since put over 10K miles. Installed with new hats and hardware, using 2007 Type -S metal reinforced upper bushings. They're great. Had to raise the rear a 1/4" to flush the drop out, but the ride is great.
Only issue I've had is the EDFC freaks out every once in a while (about once a month) it gives me an error message that the front motors are "errored". A quick power cycle fixes the problem. I've since installed the newer black control box, haven't had the error again... yet anyway.

If I'm not mistaken, the basics ride firmness can't be adjusted?

The TEIN SS you can adjust the firmness or ride height, and if you have the SS w/EDFC, you can adjust the firmness from inside the vehicle on the fly!
