Shock choices

What manufacturers offer shocks for the '04+ TL? I've already done a search on this and found some old posts stating that Koni is the only manufacturer who currently makes aftermarket shocks for the TL. Is that still the case?

I don't want to spend $200 a piece for adjustable Konis. I'm just looking for something slightly firmer than stock without getting too extreme (i.e. no lowering kits). I had Eibach Pro-Kit springs and Koni reds on a previous car and the ride was just too brutal on California's bad roads. I want to keep the stock ride height but reduce a bit of the float over undulating roads.

I was thinking something from Tokico, KYB, or even Bilstein but can't seem to find anything from them for the TL. Does the TL share the same suspension pieces with the Accord?

I also plan on getting a Comptech rear swaybar.

tein, A-spec suspension (shock and spring), comptech springs, koni, H&R springs, k-sport, thats just a few off the top of my head. The Tl does have similar parts as the accord, to install the tein EDFC, the accord strut bar has to be used.

I was also looking for just an upgrade for shocks. But found only Konis. Tire Rack sells Konis for $150 apiece. But for close to the same price of 4 Konis, you can get the Aspec suspension. The ride height is closer to stock, drops .5". And the Aspec easier to install. Unbolt the stock shock assembly, install the Aspec shock assembly. No need for a spring compressor to install the Konis.

If you ask me, I say Koni Yellows all they way. They fit the bill perfectly, are worth every penny. BTW, we sell these for much less than $200 each. Hit my PM if you are interested.

Either that, or go ASpec. These will not lower the car drasically, ride almost like stock, but will take away that floaty feeling you are talking about. Well, reduce it noticably anyway.

So has anybody noticed that the Comptech website shows the same part numbers for the Koni yellows for the Accord ('03-'05) and the TL ('04-'05)? This is what I was wondering about earlier since the TL and Accord share the same basic platform. If an aftermarket shock made for the current generation of the Accord will fit the 3rd-gen TL, does this offer more choices for us?

I found this on www.shox.com for the Accord:

Springs and suspension

I actually have neuspeed race springs off an accord on my current 04 TL.Ive been wanting to get struts for the car because the ride is terrible with the shock struts.Do the accord struts fit on the TL.Also wanted to know if anyone knows any info on the 07 TL.I recently ordered a 6 speed 07 Type S and im wondering if the suspension is the same.

Maybe it is just a technicalilty, but it bugs me sometimes. These cars use SHOCKs, no struts.

When you say the ride is terrible, do you meed too soft or too stiff?

shocks

Well the ride isnt bad if theres no bumps but it is really stiff when i hit a pot hole.I know the ride will get better if i have some upgraded shocks.Just was looking into something better then the stock ones.Im also thinking of goin to adjustable shocks.

Well, Koni is my #1 recommendation for replacements. We get a pretty decent price on them.

But your comment confuses me a little. You'd feel a stiff ride, bumps or not. When you hit a bump, does the car go crashing over it? The car is not soaking up the bump? Are you really low?
