Rims/Tire Suggestions Needed!!

I got the Hankook V12's and I love them so far.
I haven't got the chance to drive in the rain but its driving pretty smooth and noise free when I drive about 120-130.
Now im actually looking into lowering my car a little bit, but im sort of clueless where to start.
I live in canada and I drive the car all year around. I have a seperate set of 16" rims with snow tires for the winter but I can't keep going to the mechanic or raise my car and lower back down in the winter.
I was thinking of only doing a 1" to 1.5" drop..maybe somewhere inbetween if thats even possible, as long it looks nice.
I don't plan on spending a futune on this setup so im trying to keep it minimal.
Should I be getting coilovers or Shocks/Spring setup? (keep in mind I just want to have a smooth ride, so I'm not a racer or anything)
