You can do 18x7.5 or 18x8...not sure about 8.5 without rubbing...
225 40 18 or 235 40 18 tires should give u no problems....im guessing ur gonna drop it as well?

Question

hey, i was wondering if you got those 18x8's, what size tires, how many inches did you drop your car, and did they fit? I am looking to buy some 18x8's and dropping it about 1.5 - 1.75, but worried about it rubbing or wouldn't fit.

no doubt.
It ain't the tire size that will determine whether or not you rub, more important would be the wheel width and offset. 8" wheels will fit just fine with 235's, as long as the offset is +49 or greater. You can slam your ride with this combination.
