Rim fitting/riding smooth questions

I'm interested in rims just like the ones listed below to put on my '04 3G black 6MT. Question is, i dont want the rims too look to small, but i dont want them to rub if i get them (no, im not adjusting my ride's height, period.) Whats the right size, would 19's be too small? I like the 20's, but would they rub? Also, if anyone has suggestions for similar rims, I'd be very appreciative of links or ESPECIALLY pictures of them on the TL's. Thanks!

p.s.- i want glossy black with machine lip rims!

19s work best on 3G TL's 20s are overkill and if u dont lower they look awkward... get 19s you could even go staggered like 8" wide in front and 9.5" rear with a 35 or 30 series tire...

check out AXIS rims they make some cool looking mesh style rims and also check out TSW Rims the Snittertons

Those are nice.
If you WON'T lower the car, go with 20's in my opinion.

Biggest lesson learned from old rims I had...get a wheel where the spoke goes all the way to the edge of the rim. If the its a short spoke it gives the illusion of a tiny rim.

^ agree on the long spoke design makes rims look bigger but you think 20's will look good on a stock ride height??

Ya i like those snittertons alot. As for long spokes, I must have a lip on the rim, i love the lip look. The deeper the lip and fatter the tire, the better (without being overly fat).

I would go staggered on the snittertons i got the TSW Willows and the staggered set up is killer deep dish in the back looks sporty for sure and actually doesnt look bad at all not being lowered!!

I believe it's call DONK.

I have seen some with 20's and not lowered and it fills in the wheel well pretty well so that's why I said that. I'd rather a lowered car any day of the week though. Just my thing...

Now the question is, to get enough of the lip look, what size rims exactly should I go with, 20x8 front, 20x8.5 back? Or bigger? What about offset?

It's a combination of both offset and width. I'd recomment 8.5 front and 10 rear. If going with 10" out back, an offset between 35-40 is safe, with slightly stretched tires.

you can go with either or i was gonna do a 19 on my 06 before i traded it in for the 2011 ...20 inch will fit with no rub if you get the right wheel and tire ..if you go 20 i would tell you try ronjonsportdesign.com because those wheels are meant to fit acuras and hondas specifically ..so even if you go as high as a dub you really wont have to worry about much even if you decide to do a 19 because you will have a 35 height tire if im not mistaken so the wheel wont look small ...
