Rim choice????

http://www.carid.com/niche-wheels/?g...FQQBQAodMmiA4g

I'm looking at buying some rims for my gunmetal colored 04 TL 6 speed manual. Originally I was gonna go with the all matte black ones but I now saw the ones with the polished edges and like better. What do u think would look better with the gunmetal colored TL??

Thanks! I'm looking at the Niche "Euro" style. u can see both on the link I have posted. Also I was thinking 20's. from your experience are 20's too big? should I go with 19's?

Paint your stock wheels black and you almost have the exact same wheel as the one you mentioned.

Here's my car. One of those wheels look a lot like my TSWs. Mine are black with machine faced.. I'd say get that, it looks good with gray color cars:

I guess... to me they look WAY better than stock ones. not to mention I want larger rims.

Pizzaman what size are your rims?

I also thought about the all matte black because I thought maybe painting the carr matte black but not sure on the cost of that just yet. prolly not cheap...

Yea cause I live in WI and roads get bad from snow/ice/salt. Is everyone running 35 series with their 19's? and i noticed tires requested on rims sites are staggered. Is anyone running 19's with the same tires all the way around?

I don't see why theres such bad stigma against 20s, they aren't as bad as people think imo. Are they bigger than 19s? Yes but its not that dramatic as people say. There are benefits of 20s especially when it comes to tires 20s are more common, thus usually easier to find and can cost less. I've run 20s for two years no problem they don't look too big actually imo this car makes most wheels look small on it.

yea i know a couple guys who have 20's on accords. looks nice. I think 20's look better but I dont wann lose all my ride quality. not to mention cracking rims when hitting potholes. roads in wisconsin can be brutal some places. but back to my original question in this post which wheels do u like better? all matte black or matte black with polished for a gunmetal TL?

Matte black That makes the wheels look like they are dirty and need to be cleaned.

Black with polished accents will split up the look and they will look a little classier

I run 245/35/20 tires on my wheels to give them a little more meat to protect them, it is about 1" taller overall but the added protection is better imo, no real problems with rubbing and it closes the gap in the wheel well so that you don't get the 4x4 status.

I agree. I had a yukon denali with 24's black and polished got tons of compliments. Its def splits it up and adds more appeal but the matte finish gives a "tough" look. But i just dunno with a gunmetal car. What do u think of those rims??

No rubbing at all? Im a noobie here but so far my searches seem to show that anyone with 20's said they needed to have the fenders rolled or spacers... U dont have either?

Looking to purchase rims in next few weeks while they are cheap so help appreciated!! what size widths can i get away with? DEF do not want any less than a 35 series tire on my whip.

Personally I don't like them. I would rather see you keep the stock wheels and put that money towards the A-Spec kit or something along those lines.

Just my of course.

I had 20s for a while, 20x8.5, 245/35/20. I didn't need to roll fenders or anything but the car didn't look right with 20s and not lowered. I sold them and got my current wheels.

Ok well they did rub with my previous tires which ran kind of fat (Nexxen I believe) current tires are Hankook Ventus V4 which are slightly skinnier and that has corrected my problem of rubbing, no fender roll or anything. Wheels are 20x8.5 offset +34.

Tyler mentioned he doesn't like them because they're 20's and because they're matte black...not because of the style.

IMO, getting matte black defeats the purpose of getting a 20" wheel. If you get matte black, from a distance the tires and wheels blend together since they're the same color and the true size of the wheels isn't noticed/appreciated.

Check out this thread to get an idea of how the TL sits on 20's: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-photograph-gallery-96/tl-dub-club-584338/

They are both 5 spoke, that's the only similarity I see. Mine are are 18" and not 20" as well.

Listen, you don't need to prove to me that the wheels will look good on your car. If you like them and want to buy them, then do it. You asked for opinions and I gave you mine

Thanks. I wanna buy them right now but I feel I should hold out and look another couple weeks. Ive never been a fan of alot of spokes or like the wheels on the type-s models but the "bmw" style wheels so to speak look good on these cars. Like pizzamans wheels.

Well i do love those wheels but there are a few others i like it just sucks that these websites don't show or have a program to show u what it looks like on ure car. A lot of rims look nice but dont compliment the car.
