Replacing spring insulators when changing shocks?
So, I just got the warranty process for my blown front shock underway and decided to go ahead and order the rears while I was at it. My question is: should the rubber insulators that go on top of the shock be replaced every time you replace the shocks? And are OEM insulators worth a premium over others if they do need replacing? I didn't replace them the first time and they had some fairly deep indents in them where the springs had been pushing into them, but the rubber was still pretty rubbery so I figured I should leave them be. However, my passenger side suspension started making an odd squeaky sound when driving around at low speeds a few months after the swap and my first thought was that maybe the insulator tore or isn't sitting right anymore. I'm using Koni Str.T shocks with stock springs, bump stops, and everything else on an 07 TL-S.
