4 Corner Shock Replacement
4 Corner Shock Replacement
My 07 tl-s currently has 183000km on it and the struts are very noticeably worn with the two rears leaking. Im going to be replacing all 4 shocks with KYB Excel-G shocks and using the old OEM springs. However Im still debating if i should use the old top hat bushings or buy new ones. The rear has a noticeable clunk on both side when going over bumps, Im not sure if the noise is potentially related to the top hat bushing being worn and hitting the mount, or the bad struts, or something completely unrelated. I have an appointment for my car to get them replaced tomorrow and im supplying the parts but do not have the bushings and do not want to leave my car stranded at the shop if the bushings are bad. I have read up on some posts if people saying that they almost never need to replace the top hat bushing because it never goes bad, Im just curious if anyone has needed to replace there bushings while replacing shocks and if so what milage was your car at. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I would save the time and headache and go with some FCS complete assemblies and hang on to the OEM stuff to rebuild at your own pace so you don't have the car down for too long. I have the FCS on my 2004 TL and they are good. The TL-S has firmer setup so the FCS shocks may feel a bit softer. The KYB's are the same so they will be softer than the factory shocks as they are for all 2004-2008 TL and 2003-2007 accords (both products).

I'm considering these as well for my 07 Type S. I hear the FCSs are bad in colder temperatures. Any input on that? Winter season is upon us........although I'm only in Louisiana, lol
