Replacing shocks and springs for 2004 TL

Springs usually last a very long time.
I wouldn't replace them unless they are rusting really bad.

What part of FL are you in? I have the ASPEC suspension and am very pleased with it. OEM performance specifically engineered for the TL. I printed off a couple of online quotes and the local Acura dealer matched the price.

As Guitarplayer said, that price is per shock. The springs last a while and can be reused. If they start to sag or rust, then it's time to replace them.

Near Pensacola. Did they match the online price from another dealer or from an aftermarket site? I guess the cheapest route to improve ride quality would be to buy the $92 ones posted here and keep OEM springs and just replace the front at first. Since that's where all the weight is. Unless my wife is riding with me, then all the weight is on the passenger side 😂

Lol. Well at $92/shock, you're only about $200 away from an all-new aspec suspension plus the performance and appearance improvements that go with it...

What all does the aspec include? what should I ask the service guy to quote me for? He might cut me a deal as long as I know what I'm asking for. Thanks

Saw a set on eBay for $650. Guess it's all 4 shocks and springs. I'll call dealer today and see what his best quote is. How hard of an install is it?

It actually isn't too bad, just time consuming. I was a total noob and never attempted anything like it before and was nervous as all hell. I did it in stages over a weekend. Removed back seat on Friday, fronts on a Saturday, and the rear on Sunday. I didn't want to rush and I used the printouts Slpr04UA6 provided as a guide. The rears were a little more complicated than the front. If you don't have to mess with a spring compressor and you already have the whole shock/spring assembled with the top hats, then it'll go much faster.
I'd say if you have the time and want to save some money and learn about your car, do it yourself. If you want to save yourself the time and aggravation, pay someone else to do it.

Not bad depending on the amount of rust on your car and skill level. Hardest part for me was getting the trim pieces and back seat out. I would do yourself a favor and purchase the TL service manual (not the Haynes manual) there's great write ups on here but having the shop manual has allowed me to do everything on my car with ease.

Hey guys, I have a 2004 TL MT and was also wondering about replacing my springs and possibly my shocks in the near future. I heard somewhere that I need to replace my shocks if I'm going to replace my springs because they could break after getting new springs. Is this true? I'm thinking about a set of Teins or H&R. Thoughts?

Replace just the springs with Tein, H&R, Eibach.

Hi, all.
I have a 2004 6MT TL.
Can anyone point in the direction of the proper OE part?
I want the exact part that came as new as I love the way my car drove when first purchased.
I am looking for the best price on that part. Also interested in what other accessory parts I should purchase such as shock mounts, dust caps, etc.
I've read the thread many times and I don't want to do anything but keep this stock since it's my daily driver.
Thanks in advance.
