Reasonable labor cost for installing new springs?
Hi,
Located in CA.
I own an Acura TL 2005 and I was planning on purchasing the Tein S.Tech lowering springs.
I was wondering what the reasonable cost of labor for installing the new springs would be. I would also have to get it realigned as well right?
Thank you for any sort of help!

yes once the installation is done you will need to realignment. install a new springs will run you around $600. if you can DIY then they charge around $100 for all 4 spring.

Unfortunately he's right. With an alignment you're going to pay a shop anywhere from 400-600 to get that done. California has the highest labor prices I've ever seen. This shop in San Diego wanted $700 to install springs on my friend's GTI. That price was without an alignment.

To be fair on the TL you'll need to remove strut bar in front, both wheels, remove shocks, remove springs, put everything back together. In the back you'll need to remove rear seats instead of strut bar then do the rest. It's not terribly complicated, but it's time consuming nonetheless.

yeah, but paying $600 to lower your car 1.5", plus the cost of the actual springs on top of that is pretty damn expensive...
OP could take his time over a weekend and get it all done, get satisfaction that he modded his car himself and learn a bit more about his car in the process. win-win!

I'm in a small town, but I can get it done for $500, and $75 for an alignment.
However, as previously stated, it's not a HARD thing to do, it's just time consuming. If you have a couple of friends that can help you, there are tutorials here that can make the job pretty easy, even for those not so mechanically inclined. You need help, and you need time. With those two things, and the tutorials, you can get this done no problem, then it's just $75-100 for an alignment.
I had a couple of friends help me with mine, and I'm glad I did, as it helped me be a better wrencher.

I'll do it for 400 haha.
OP it's pretty easy to switch out there springs. You can rent a sprig compressor for free at any parts store
It's easier with friends but I've done a spring install and two sets of coilovers install by myself so it is doable. There's a great DIY on here that you can follow along and save yourself all that money!

The rear seat is a pain in the butt the first time but I've taken it out like 20'times now so I can get it out in like 10 min haha. The DIY will tell you how to do that too

Link to A-Spec suspension replacement. Has manual scans for removing rear seat, and also has other suspension DIY links posted within, which are probably also in the 3G garage.....

This link will also help a lot! It's what I relied upon along with the Acura suspension scans. I'll be using it again when I install my Tein SA.
