For those still looking for tires there is a set of brand new Bridgestone Pole Position tires up on the black market for $650 shipped.

If I was still waiting on rubber for these I would have jumped on that deal.

Great thread everyone...very helpful...I really love these wheels. I have an 07 TL Type-S, 5AT....it's a DD so running snow tires on factory OEM 17" rims now, but spring is almost here in VT and I'm considering these 19" wheels in the black chrome with 235/35R19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Sounds like I'm going to need a 15mm spacer to clear the Brembo brakes.....or is that just a problem with the Brembo's on the 6MT? Thanks

Thanks....that's what I thought. Any idea if the TPMS that comes with the RDX wheels woudl also work with my 07 TL Type-S? Or is it a different frequency? Price I am looking at for the wheels with TPMS and center caps (no lug nuts) is over $900. Anyone know of a good source with a lower price?

RDX TPMS do not work with the TL system. $900 it's a high price, think that you can still get the full set for a $550 - $650 range, check it on Ebay.

MRP, I am thinking about gettings these wheels as well. Are you lowered on anything or when you get the wheels are you just leaving you set-up stock suspension wise? Trying to figure out whether or not to lower if i do it will probably just be aspec no lower

Damn it! I didn't notice that the price was per wheel! About 6 months ago (or less) you can find the same price for each wheel finish. I bought mine for $480 + shipping, but that was almost a year. Don't give up keep looking & good luck.

I saw a brief conversation a while back in the thread from some of you guys about tire pressure and also gas mileage. Just wondering of those of us that have the wheels mounted what tire pressure have you found is best? And what kind of gas mileage are you getting?

I've played around with tire pressure since I had the wheels installed and haven't found a combination I want to stick with yet. I have 245/35 tires. The wheels say to run 33lbs, but of course that is when you have larger SUV tires on the wheel. The place that mounted mine set the PSI to 33lbs, according to the sticker that came with the wheels, but the tires looked very under-inflated to me. Of course you don't want to set it at the max 50lb PSI of the tire, but since I thought the tires looked under-inflated I raised the PSI to 40lbs all the way around. With the tires at 40lbs they no longer looked under-inflated, but I wasn't getting great gas mileage, only about 21mpg around town. In hopes to get a couple mpg's back (gas is getting ridiculous again) I lowered the PSI down thinking that something closer to the 33lbs the tires recommend might be better. So for a few days now I have been running 36lbs in the rear and 38lbs in the front. However, I am still only hovering around that 21mpg mark. Am I still overinflated?

Long story short is 21mpg what you other guys are getting around town? I can't remember exactly what I was getting around town, but I was thinking it was around 25mpg. A better test will be this weekend when I head out of town on the highway. The last time I took this same trip, before I got the wheels mounted, I averaged about 31mpg.

Also what PSI are you guys running and why? No place seems to have a definitive answer as to what a 19 inch rim with 35 profile tires should be inflated to. Just looking online I've seen people recommend anywhere from 32lbs all the way to 44lbs.

Gas mileage is not my 1st concern, comfort is...I run 36psi all the way around on 245/35s. any higher and the car doesnt ride as nice.

It does ride better now that I dropped pressure from 40 all the way around to 36 rear and 38 front!

^^^ Interesting... I'm riding 42PSI up front and 40PSI in the rear on Nitrogen (245/35). Like you, I did quite a bit of research on this and this is what i found that most people preffered. I dont think the nitrogen helps any with gas mileage, but it helps to keep the PSI stable especially with the fluctuating weather/temps.

As for MPG, my MID says im getting on average 26MPG and i would say 75% of my driving is city driving. Need to do a more accurate test. Will let you know what i come back with...

I still think they look under-inflated, but most of what I read was saying I should be at an even lower PSI than I am so I figured I would give it a shot. Honestly the rear looks about right at 36. But the front, even when I was at 40 looked low.

Yeah, that was my issue too. I had it at 40 all around but the fronts just didn't look right to me. I increased it to 42 and it looked even all around.

I've never had it any lower then that so i cant compare/comment on the harsh ride. Do you guys notice a considerable improvement on comfort/ride?

Dino, i know your dropped on H&Rs, Kiwilit, are you dropped? I'm lowered on Koni yellows and neuspeed springs.

I have a stock suspension right now. I want to lower and add A-Spec kit at some point, but its probably gonna be a while.

Dumb question but can we still use our stock tl log nuts for the RDX wheels?

Yes, stock lugs will be fine.

I'm riding 33 psi on nitro and it looks underinflated to me. Once the potholes get filled around here I'll be bumping up to 36/38. I maintain 31 mpg highway while running 78 mph so I'm pleased. City driving dropped about two points to 23 mpg which is still okay for me.

For those still trying to find a deal look up the dealer that was offering these for $599. He had both finishes left last month. Check out the group buy page and look for 19" RDX rims for $550 (even though the price went up.)

I see more people running 245/35/19 tires then 235/35/19
Is it because ride quality will be better on the 245? Also if people put the 245 tire drop with coils and spacers is a must atleast 15mm all around I'm sure that can rub now with a 235 it may not?

Can anyone chime In on this?

Radial tires can be decieving...copied and pasted from wikipedia...."radial tires lay all of the cord plies at 90 degrees to the direction of travel (that is, across the tire from lip to lip). This design avoids having the plies rub against each other as the tire flexes, reducing the rolling friction of the tire. This allows vehicles with radial tires to achieve better fuel economy than vehicles with bias-ply tires. It also accounts for the slightly "low on air" (bulging) look that radial tire sidewalls have, especially when compared to bias-ply tires."

Tigga, drop it down to 36 or so, and see how u like the ride....as long as u have the desired air pressure in the tires, dont focus too much on how they look.

But what is the "desired" pressure? I guess that's really what my original question was. I saw a huge range from like 32 psi up to 44 psi recomended by different sites online. What is the optimal pressure for a 245/35 19 tire?

I rode about 100 miles on the highway, with an average speed of 72, and got like 29 miles per gallon. I think I was around 30 or 31 last time I made this trip. I expected to drop a couple with the wheels. Maybe I was only getting 23 mpg around town before; so a drop to 21 would be normal? I just felt like I was getting more like 25 around town. Oh well...

I dont think there is a definitive answer to that question. I would just play with the air pressures until u find whats right for you, and your tire brand/size.

IIRC somewhere in this thread, someone called a tire manufacturer, and they told that person to run(what I thought) was a really high pressure(like high 40s).

I found that the optimum air pressure for my setup was about 35-36 all the way around. You should start there(35-36psi) I suppose ride, comfort, and priorities(comfort, gas mileage etc) are all subjective. so it will depend on you and your wants. Like I said, the only thing left for me to recommend, is to play with your pressures, until u are happy.

I pulled the trigger on the 19" RDX wheels in Sparkle Silver with center caps and TPMS for 07 TL Type-S, 2 sets of the Ichiba version 2 wheel spacers (WS-5511464A) for both front and rear wheels and a set of 245/35R19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Hoping to have installed next week. I will post photo's when they are done. Windows are getting tinted tomorrow...20% Madico.....not sure what I'll do for tire pressure yet....I like that the TPMS system actually tells you how much pressure is in each tire...not just if it's low....I'm still running stock suspension with no plans to change

Very nice! You don't play around with tires man lol that's a small fortune you've just paid for the Pilot Sports.

Did you get the wheels from a vendor here?

Picked up what I think was the last set of chrome look available 2 weeks ago. Went with 225/40 19 Continental Extreme DWS to maintain ride quality and gas mileage. The sidewalls are 3.64" compared to the stock 17" 4.185". Treadwidth is 7.5" and the stockies were 7.7" To get a similar sidewall, say a 3.92" would mean a 245/40 size and the tread would be 9.2". In my opinon, that is a lot of rolling resistance. I do not notice any difference in ride quality. The only drawback is that the sidewalls are about flush with the wheels, so going thru a car wash could be a real issue.
