A question for those of you with lowering springs

1. How long have you had your springs installed.

2. Since you have had them installed how many problem free miles have you gone on them.

Are you trying to find out if springs will blow your shocks out or if there any adverse effects? As long as you get a spring that isn't too aggressive the life of the shock will only be slightly shortened if at all. Other than that you will need ot get an alignment after lowering the car to prevent uneven tire wear.

Tein HTechs installed a couple months ago-miles around 1k.

Problems? None!
Love em, nice ride, better handling, decent drop, and they make the shocks last a while as well

I currently have 18,000 miles... so my car has been lowered 17,800 miles with no issues what-so-ever...

Good Luck... and Enjoy being lowered...

Anything below 1.5 inches of a drop, expect to get a deteriorating ride after half a year to a year. A mild drop of 1inch to 1.2 max won't have too much of an affect on the shocks, but it will obviously wear down at an accelerated rate compared to stock.

Do you mean anything above 1.5"?

To the OP it really depends on the driver and driving conditions and the vehicle. Some OE shocks can handle a 2" drop no problem, some can only handle a 1" drop. A 1" drop on the 3rd gen TL should cause only a slightly shorter life, if that at all, of the shock.

Eibach Pro-Kits. About 7000-8000 miles and NO difference in shock life yet. Rides stiffer, little more squirrelly in the rear, but I haven't changed the RSB yet.

Oops, I meant 1.5 or above. I was thinking about when it was on the car and it being lowered..
