question for H&R spring owners

looking to pick up a set of the H&Rs springs for my TL-S. i know the site and threads have said its 1.4F and 1.3R (something like that) but i'm more of a visual guy. so in finger gap measurements!(truely scientific) how much of a gap do you guys have and is the drop severe enough for you guys to get a camber kit? yes i have used the search tool but all i've been getting is that "H&R is excluded from your search" which is buggin the hell out of me. thanks for any help and/or advice

i got tein s-techs and its about the same drop. I didnt get a chamber kit, i was told if i go lower then its required. most people with coilovers get them because the drop is more then 1.5 inches....

Depends on exact tire size.

With stock tires (235/45-17) my gap was 1 finger front, ~1.5 finger rear, iirc.

With 245/45-17 (about 1/8th inch taller) my gap is ~3/4 finger front, 1 finger back.

No camber kit 14k miles tires are fine. Minor wear on the inner edge, but not a big deal. Toe Alignment is checked/adjusted every other tire rotation (~9k miles).

Yes.

Actually about 25k on the stockers; 14k with H&R Springs.

Just took a good look at 'em a few days ago - no apparent leaks. They don't bounce and they don't hit the bump stops. I figure they are still in pretty good shape - for now.

I figure, they'll last as long as they last. When (if) they are shot, Koni's are just a phone call away.

i had H&R sports on my 08' TL Type-S on factory shocks pictured below. tire profile were 245/35R19 (front) & 275/30R19 (rear) IMO, your going to want to go lower. my best recommendation is to go with a coilover setup such as the H&R coilovers or Tein Basics/SS. trust me on this one.

Wrong.

Go to www.H&Rsprings.com and look at the application guide. H&R part no. 50104-88 is only listed for the TL base.

You are wrong.

i wouldn't mind a coil-over setup but at this point i don't think the 1k+ is warranted. its bout to be spring in utah and the car is going into storage mid-summer and hopefully going to end up in someplace with tropical weather all year round. like bear said before, if i want to go lower imma just get new shocks. but thanks for the input.

Get the H&R race spring. I have them on my car with tokico hps and the drop will take care of the wheel gap and the ride quality isnt that bad.

The Type-S is a little stiffer, but what fits in the base will fit in the Type-S and vice versa...

I like the looks of the H&R Sports on DREW's car, that's about the drop I'm looking for as I have a nasty ridge to my parking lot behind my work, and the occasional dirt road here in Vermont.

I have H&R Sports on my Legacy and they're great.

Looks like the H&R Sports give a slight rake to the front of the TL-S 6MT. With an Auto TL-S, it'd sit even lower up front considering TL-S 5AT weighs about 100lbs more in front. That might be a little too aggressive of a rake but someone else can chime in.
