Proteg lug nuts
Has anyone used these? I was looking at a set for my car but I can’t find any information on them anywhere.

They make the wheels pop out a little more and don’t stick out too far
I messaged the seller and wasn’t sure if they’d work on the xxrs I want but they work for stock wheels. I thought they might be Ricey and I’m not a fan of colored accessories but o well for the price I like them

thank you I might have to message or look for other lug nuts because I have Konig wheels but I will probably try these since they are on sale and they should work I don’t think different wheels would change anyth

Yeah these did not fit my xxr wheel. I did not have the special socket but wrapped them in tape but some of the finish on the edges still came off. My moteki sr48s would’ve worked. Their coloring wore off a bit also though

Brolando thanks for the information. If that's the case I might switch back to stock. There wasn't a lot of specs on these and I usually over research all purchases before I just buy them. I might just donate them to a local car buddy or something. Its been a couple hundred miles since I put them on and they are all still tight.
The only way you could use tuner seat lugs on stock wheels is using an adaptor washer.
XXRs you need spline drive lug nuts. I've seen Konigs needing spline drive lug nuts also, but varies by model.

I would not have bought these before if I did my proper research then but OP you just have to find out what style your aftermarket wheels are and go from there. Sorry for accidentally hijacking your thread

Its a common mistake. Honda uses an unusual lug seat.
The danger is that you're only using a very very small portion of the lugnut cone to actually clamp the wheel. So about 100% of the time, something ends up getting damaged.
Sometimes, the aluminum on the lugnut will deform, fold over, and then damage the lug on the way out. If you're lucky, this will happen to a rear lug stud, which is easily replaced.
Other times, the wheel will work its way loose when driving. This is exaggerated with aluminum lugnuts because they're soft...and because aluminum against steel requires modified torque value due to friction increase in the threads.
Without boring y'all to death....use only ball seat lugnuts for OEM TL wheels.

A safe bet for most aftermarket wheels is either spline drive or 17mm hex. I prefer the look and function of 17mm hex (Muteki SR35's are cheap and pretty good quality).
Match the lugnut seat to the wheel seat. Most aftermarket wheels have a (60 degree?) conical seat.
If you're not entirely dedicated to taking really particular care of your lug nuts....don't buy aluminum. If you go to a service station/tyre shop for wheel service...definitely don't buy aluminum.
Buy steel CLOSED END lug nuts. Keep it simple.
Search up "ball honda lug nut" on eBay, they've been around for years but the major complaint with the coloured ones were that the finish would chip off/scratch off easily.
I'm not sure if that's changed or not over the years.
If you're looking for OEM-ish lug nuts, I'd check out Gorilla lug nuts. I believe they have chrome and black, not certain on black though.

I have gorilla's black wheel lock set also.
the black lugs I linked seem to have a decent finish. I've had mine on/off a few times with an impact, and they're mostly fine.
They're also $20something. Even if you had to replace every year or 2...whatever

So I do not want to bash a brand or seller, Bruce has been very helpful and great with previous purchases but the Aluminum Proteg lug nuts are junk. I recently swapped them for the proper ball seat steel lug nuts. Not sure if my studs were bad before but now two have to be replaced because two aluminum ones had serious issues coming off the stock wheels. I highly recommend getting steel lugs as I will be doing from now on when I go to purchase ones for my aftermarket wheels. Im sure if you buy the steel kind from Proteg they will be fine but even the color came off in areas after the second use. Just thought Id give an update.
