Proper suspension/struts for 2004 Acura
Recently told I had leaks in one of the stuts. Looking around found the Monroe OE struts and the Honda replacements were both equal... Are they?? Tried the Monroe's but found them very stiff, not as smooth a ride as before.
What was you preference and why?? Thanks

im also thinking of changing my struts. i want to install the eibach pro kit lowering springs on them (1" drop apparently ). i looked around and found Monroe sensa tracs. i can get the OEM ones from honda for about the same price ( around 95 a piece ). but are the ride quality the same or better with the Monroe? im thinking of the Monroes because they come with the lifetime warranty and i can exchange them if my springs cause them to " blow up" like some people are saying. any feedback is helpful. And sorry if i kinda jacked your thread.
p.s monroe sells different struts for different purposes. (Monroe OE, Monroe sensatrac, Monroe Gasmatic, and Quick struts)

According to the Monroe web site the OE Spectrum struts are the correct replacement for 2004 TL. Are they really??? What about these SensaTracs mentioned above?? Which is better a match??

I'd go for one of these if I was looking for a replacement myself. (Though to be honest, I'll just buy koni yellows when I need shocks)

Yeah, I'd steer clear of anything by Monroe. In terms of saving money on the installation, I'd recommend grabbing a new A-Spec Kit from any of the various Acura dealers selling on ebay. They come pre-assembled with top-hats and all you have to do is remove and replace the assembly at each corner without worrying about spring compressors (or associated labor if you have a shop do it).

Tons of threads on this. I've mentioned before that Monroes are excessively stiff but also had less control at the same time. Koni yellows if you want a great ride and great control... The TL uses shocks, struts would be nearly double the price.
