Question Which ones?

Looking to buy tires for the first time for this car. I've narrowed it down to:
Conti Extreme DWS
Yokohama AVID Envigor
Sumitomo HTR A/S PO1

Which ones and why?

DWS Check tirerack.com. they are top rated
Yoko Envigor is a good tire but I've read a lot about tire noise down the road.
Sumitomos I can't comment on.

I'm currently running General G-Max

trigirl, me, a little spirited; wife, not so much. If it snows, TL doesn't come out the garage.

i have the DWS on my TL. they are quiet and handle decently around corners (i sacrificed a little here with these), do well in light snow, and excellent in rain/dry conditions. the tires are a bit soft around corners. they also flatspot.

my tires are set at 38 front and 35 rear with minimal flat spotting (even when the car sits for a week) and manage to firm up the ride a bit. they also handle a little better in turns. keep in mind i have OEM spec'd 18's and 6MT. i'm mostly happy with them.

I've got the EnVigors on my car right now, and I think they're really good tires. I've put about 3500 miles on them in the past month and a half and they've been quiet and offer a good amount of grip. That being said, if I romp on it from a stop they'll break loose, but for normal everyday driving they're great. Can't say about their rain performance since it's not really the wet season yet but I predict they'll be just fine. Actually, I just ordered a new set of rims (+1 inch) and I purchased another set of EnVigors to go with the new wheels.

I know it's not what you asked, but have you considered Michelins? I grew up near two different Michelin plants, and the common perception was that Continentals were a decent mid grade tire, but not something premium. My wife and her family spent their lives working there and made everything from Michelin, Uniroyal and BF Goodrich, to tractor trailer, mining dump truck and RV tires. They've always said that the Michelin brand tires just had more "stuff" in the construction, as in steel, rubber etc. I would suggest the Pilot A/S 3 as an all season or the Pilot Super Sport.

I can't really speak to the Yokohama or Sumitomo tires, as I've never experienced them.

I also have Yokohama envigor tires on my 06 tsx. They have be great tires in snow, downpours, cornering, etc. They have 20,000+miles on them.
