Nitto 555

Some of you may have previously read my posts within tire discussions in which I swear my devotion and loyalty to Falken. Well, I have a problem, the tires I need for my rims are backordered...I have called all around the country, and found a set in Florida, but it will cost almost $50/tire for shipping.

So, I could get Nitto 555 extreme today...anyone ever had these? THanks

I have had them. they are a very sticky tire and handle very well but be prepared to replace them frequently. they wear out very quickly and create alot of wheel hop should you doa burn out.

Good for performance, bad for everyday driver

I had them on my A6's. They seemed to have good grip and were comfortable. I repalaced them every 2 years or so. I think I like the Falkens better though... at least so far.

my g/f has these on her 350Z and I love them. very sticky and agressive AND not too loud! plus, they have a good tread rating so they shouldn't have to be replaced that quickly...

How are the Falken ZIEX 512's in snow?
Thanks,

I have them and love them. Very aggressive and quiet. My first set so I'm not sure how long they last.

I had them on my 1999 Accord V6 coupe. They are marginal in the performance departments, but I had no trouble getting 30k out of them. If you are not pushing your car hard in the twisties they will be fine.

Ok so my choice seems to be the Pirelli P Zero Nero's, Michelin Sport A/S, or the Falken ZEIX 512's.

These tires will be for the OEM wheels and winter driving in the Detroit area.

Which do you folks vote for. I am not a hot racer.
Thanks
Craig

I have them on my car. They are sticky and have good grip even in the rain. I got them when I bought my car two months ago so I can't say much about the wear factor, but I have not noticed any wear yet and they offer a nice ride! I'm happy with them.

Pics of the Nitro 555 on my car...

your message is not 100% clear to me (are you saying a 17" tire that gets winter driving, or simply a extra set of tires for winter?), if they are "winter driving" only tires then get a set of winter tires, not a all-season tire. Yokohama makes a nice winter tire and is less expensive than some others.

cvajs,
When I took delivery of my TL I ordered a set of Falken Torgue 5 gunmetal rims and Falken ZIEX 512's. These are for summer driving. I will swap the series 2 BS EL-42's for the OEM rims to drive
in the winter here in Detroit.

Which Yokohama tires are you reffering to?
Craig

thanks for the info everyone...after having them on for 3 days I have noticed the following...grippy as all hell, a little hard which creates some bumps, loud at low speed, but quiet at high speed...overall, not bad at all
