New Tires for my TL today

My dealer gave me 4 brand new tires for my TL today. I had 16K miles on my tires and and one of the tires had a hole in the sidewall from a nail and another tire was a bit worn, so I called the service manager and asked if there was anything they could do. He said he had a new set of tires and if I came in in the afternoon he'd be happy to install them for me. My tires were early makes and there's a recall for "PVC" labeled tires.

Yes, I know many people here have complained about the tires. I've never had a problem with them except that they're awful in snow- Nokian snow tires for me next season. I think they make the care handle great in dry/wet conditions. I'm glad I waited because I received some mileage with the original tires. I never received a notice from ACURA about a recall. I did realize I could've complained earlier and got repalcements. I had the 4 wheels aligned and the car handles even better than the first day it was delivered to me.

Good for you...

In the beginning, it's not really the recall for all PVC EL42s, but they seemed to upgrade it to TSB later after finding out there are more problems than they expected.

Yes. Tell them you have vibration issues.

Well I remember reading on this board about the whole vibration thing and calling Bridgestone and opening a case file and then getting the Turanza LS-Z's put on for free...so I thought I would try it out!

Called Bridgestone, they called Firestone, Firestone ordered 4 brand new LS-Z's and I got them put on a couple weeks ago FOR FREE ($1,200) after putting 7,100 miles on those crappy EL-42s and the LS-Z's are SO much better! Handling, braking, even taking off from a dead stop, they grip like glue! Tirerack.com ranks this tire #1 out of all the Grand Touring tires on their site. I am definitely pleased with these new tires. I live in Georgia right now so I am not worried about how well they do or dont handle in snow because it doesnt snow here.
