Need advice on wheels

Hey guys!

I've got an 08 TL with 18" aftermarket rims. At the time I bought them, I didn't realize that they were 18x7.5 because the tires I was using had a significant lip.

Now that I realize how narrow they actually are, I'm planning to upgrade to either 18x8.5 or 18x9.5. I already have camber kits installed from my drop, so I can accommodate wider rims. Any thoughts or the best size for performance? And if I go as wide at 18x9.5, do you think I'll have any problems rubbing the fender without a steep camber?

Thanks!

Besides the camber, what is the offset of the wheels? Bear in mind that id you go over the +35 offset with an aggressive camber, you may have trouble at high speed and loosing traction from the rear! I spoke to the tech's at work wheels as i have seen so many people going with + 22's 20's 17's etc, and he told me that this is really to make the car look nice, but it spells trouble if you are a spirited driver. 8.5's and 9.5's are oke, but within a +38 and +39 offset. You cand give any of the wheel manufacturer's a call, and ask, I am sure they can clear that doubt!

Hey,

So sorry it took my a couple days to get back. I had to check specs on the wheels from the manufacturer. Offset is +32 front and +35 rear.

Rear has a camber kit and I just ordered the kit for the front.

Tire size will be 245/40/18 if I go with 18x8.5.

1" Eibach drop kit & Konis.

Do you think if I went as wide as 9.5" I'd get wheel-well rub?

Thanks again for your help!

If you are going with a camber kit, you should have no problem with the 9.5. Go just the right degree, no + to the degree it can hold. I'm running 18x9 with a +35 offset, 245/40/18 with no problem. I am going to 9.5 in the rear and to a +38 offset, which should keep me safe from rubbing. I don't see you having any problems at all!
