Need advice on TEIN SS drop!
Need advice on TEIN SS drop!
Hey guys I have a 08 TL-S and it's pretty clear that i should get the TEIN SS , but im a little worried cause i live in NYC and those of you that live here knows that you spend more time dodging pot holes than anything else ! plus im running on 20inc rims , what drop do you guys recommend me getting that won't sacrafice my ride and wheels.
Just my opinion, but you shouldn't go any lower than a 1.5" drop. It might leave just a bit of a wheel gap since you're rolling on 20's, but that's my recommendation!
its not the potholes you gotta worry about.. its those like bumps and little mountains in the road (fellow NYCers know what im talking about).... when i drive downtown, i feel like i am driving offroad..
you'll definitely bottom out your car... the 08 TL-S is slightly lower then the base TL's, so i would say keep it under > 1.5"

dont sweat the jack... i only use a hyrdaulic jack on my car
just keep a nice sized 2x4" handy, drive the front left wheel on to it, and the jack will fit under the car on the front left jack-point... if its not enough, use two pieces of wood... thats what i do!

Get the SS, dont sweat it, look how low Danny, Rodney and Jenn are. I had my tein SS down all the way and drove through the BX, Manhattan and Queens..I plan on doing the same with the GS..don't sweat it plus there are hydraulic jacks for lowered cars , so al final...JUST DO IT!!!
