My TPMS reading

Im not sure if im the only one wondering but should all four tires read the same tire pressure or does it depend on driving conditions? Because I notice at times the fronts read differently from the rears. below is what mines was showing a few days ago. Should I add air to the two rear tires?

First look at your inflation specs.... the front and rear tires are not supposed to be the same pressure, and on top of that the pressures will vary with heat and load on the tires. I also don't expect the TPMS to be dead on accurate.

The TL is heavier in the front (due to front wheel drive). Higher pressure in the front tires will maintain the same area of tire contact with the road. The recommended pressures should be on the driver's door jamb. I believe mine are 35 front, 32 rear (varies with tire make/model).

The numbers will rise with temperature (while driving) so the pressure should be adjusted when cool. Universal gas law in effect there.

I've noticed my TPMS to be pretty darned accurate with my hand-held pressure gauge.

The Acura-recommended tire pressures (always read with tires COLD as Andrew McCarthy said), should be the same for 5-speed AUTO transmission TLs (32 psi on my 2005), but tire pressures should be higher in front on the 6-speed MANUAL (35/32, I think). Check the TPMS pressure against that of a gauge which is known to be accurate to make sure TPMS is reading properly when the tires are cold.
Check 1) your driver's door plate/sticker, and 2) last page of your owner's manual for recommended pressures. However, some people adjust their pressure a little higher for firmer ride/better handling/better mileage (I use 36/33 generally on my 5A; just keep cold pressure below 40 psi to keep car from feeling twitchy at higher speeds).

I believe the 06 TL Navi has 33 front and 32 rear.

For your peace of mind you should get yourself a good tire pressure gauge (I got a nice digital one). Go out to your car one morning when your car has been sitting all night (tire need to be cold). Locate your tire pressure sticker on your driver side door jam, and check all your tire pressures and adjust them. Don't do this after driving the car as your tire will heat up, and the pressure in the tires will increase. Tire pressures need to be checked and adjusted cold. If you don't have a air compressor at home you should invest in one of those 12v (cig lighter) compressors. You can get something good for less than $50. Then you can also keep it in your trunk, you never know when you'll need it.

Unhappy

that's interesting. When I first drove the car off the lot, it read PSI, but after I hit the Default settings reset button for the keyless memory option, I noticed it reverted back to kpa?

Question TPMS Setpoint?

My tire pressure warning came on this afternoon when I started up the car. Checked the tires visually and they looked ok but I've learned not to trust that. Didn't have a pressure gage (do now) and didn't know that I could read the pressures (found out a bit later) When learned how to read them, I had 28 in one front tire, 29 in the other, and 30 in both rears. After I put a bit of air in them, I had 32 all the way around and the warning cleared. My question: what is the TPMS Setpoint? My owner's manual doesn't say. Thanks in advance.

Another forum member says 26 lbs. to trigger the TPMS warning, 29 to clear it-- see the last post in this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/stock-exhaust-145440/

Always check the tires when they are cold; the tire pressure will be lower as the weather gets colder too.
