Lowering The Front of the TL
Has anyone lowered just the front of their TL's. If so, who did it and how much did it cost total. Would be really helpful for any Chicago contacts that someone may have. Thanks in advance!

Why would it be retarded? I have 19's and they dont fit the front of my car but they definitely fit the back. I also have a box in the trunk so the back is already lowered a bit. If I lowered both the front and the back it still won't be right. This is my best solution. Any other thoughts. I would like to hear from some tech's?????

You can get a set of coilover for height adjustability. That way you lower your car properly and also compensate the extra weight in the trunk.
I wouldn't lower just the front of the car just because of the unmatched spring rates between the aftermarket and stock ones.

Depending on the dealer, but if they would, they'd charge an arm and a leg. I'd go to an import suspension shop to get it installed.
If you want to by Tein, I know there's a group buy here in this site from Heeltoe. If not, you can call local Tein dealers from Tein's website.

so let me get this str8..
you got 19's
they dont fit the front but FIT the rear
you plan on just putting these rims on the rear?
How do they fit the rear with the drop from the weight of the box and not the front?
And by the way, i think for now the only out there is TEIN for now for coilovers. that way like someone else said "you can adjust the height balancing it out even all throughout.

No No No, you must have misunderstood what I was saying. I wasn't clear on this I know. Basically I put 19's on my car. In the rear they look great. They fit the WHEEL WELL perfectely. However, in the front there is a big gap. More space then in the rear so it makes the rim look smaller in front. Thats because I have some extra weight in the trunk because of my subs. So what I want to do it bring the front down a bit to get the look I'm looking for.

Basically I want the same look I have in the Front that I do in the back, and to get this I would need to bring the Front down about an inch.

Thanks for all the feedback. I will look into adjustable coils. I know someone said they all have to be adjusted the same. Is that true?

Please explain how handling will be affected if he lowers the front, to make it the same height with the rear (due to his subwoofer boxes)?

look, I lowered my TL about a month ago. I didn't have enough time to do them all at once, so I did the front the first night, went to work the next day, and then lowered the rear that next night. Driving for one day with only the front lowered, I had NO problems. I didn't crash my car as someone previously stated (how moronic). You shouldn't have any serious issues.
The ride felt firmer in the front, naturally. It was an improvement from stock, but I don't think most people would want this setup. Sounds to me like you are mainly concerned with the stance of your car, not serious performance... The springs rates are going to be slightly different, but hell, you may not even notice it. As far as finding just the front springs- highly doubtful. You'll prob have to buy all four.
My rear slightly sags with nothing in the trunk and CT springs on all 4 corners. Lowering just the front would be the cheap route; however, if you wanted to do it right the first time and not worry about it, get yourself some coilovers. Then you could have matching spring rates and adjust your ride height. I'd go with the TEIN's.

And lowering only the front with FWD would drive you straight into the ground.
