There's a greater chance of damage to the lug nuts with an impact tool. However, you will still probably be ok. One thing I will point out, is that open-ended lug nuts will make your lug bolts rust on the ends which are usually covered, with close-end lug nuts.

Another reason of 98% of the people that use an impact have it set too high and if its an alloy nut then you can pull the threads out of it. And they are very easy to cross thread.

Retorque after 100 KM is what they are meaning in case they loosen off.

Either that or they had extra words laying around thier engineering department and just threw them on the package.

There is no need to use air tools unless you are on the clock and time is money.

rotors axles and rims are easily damaged by overzealous use of the air gun, and severe overtorque. I have checked wheel lugs right out of the dealer after brake job, 132 foot pounds!
spec is 80 thats it- 80 foot pounds

if you use air tools you are going to shave off the black covering.... the lugs are aluminum and are just painted with a light coat of black, so it will all come right off if you impact gun it

these are open ended muteki lug nuts, by far the lightest lug nuts ever, they are for people who care about weight reduction to the single gram

they are also invisible, when you put em on the wheel studs and lower the car they aren't visible

By using an impact wrench on vehicles with disk brakes you run the risk of warping your rotors. That is why OEMs give you a torque spec for torquing wheels. That said most sorry a** service centers still us impact wrenches to install your wheel. They (impact wrenches) are supposed to used to remove wheels only!!!
