Just installed my Falken ZE912
Finally decided to mount the 235/45/R17 Falken ZE912's after a week of procrastinating. Bought them for about $76 a piece, which is pretty damn cheap for a tire of this size. Since i'm only running them three months out of the year, I didn't want to go all fancy with some Pilot Sport 2's so I settled with the 912's..
*Noise/comfort: These tires are suprisingly quiet. Haven't had a chance to go over 60mph, but they seem pretty quiet up until then compared to the stock Turanzas with 30k, which sounded terrible at like 40mph...However, at 60mph they aren't as quiet as my FK452's. They do ride extremely smooth though, but they seem a little softer than the Turanzas. I still have to mess with the air pressure to my liking though...
*Grip(dry/wet): Drove about 200 miles so far, and they seem to hold extremely well! I just got home and drove in the rain, and it felt as if I were driving on dry tarmac. Even going through deep puddles, it caught some grip instantly. Very impressed! Dry weather traction is pretty good also, took the back roads home yesterday and they really seemed to hold around turns. They even catch and lock on when launching from a dead stop...I barely have any wheel spin! This could be due to the fact that they're brand new but still impressive for a $80 tire!
All in all, the ZE912's are extremely good tires for the price...you really can't go wrong. I had my expectations pretty low for a $80 tire, but these really made me change my mind! I was leaning towards the Kumhos but i'll never forget when my brother read them on my friends car and said, "do your tires really say kum-hoe?" LOL after that I could never look at them the same...
