Nope, your OEMs will be fine...the Comptechs are pretty much the same as the Eibach Pro Kit which I had installed last week....LOVE IT! Ride is *slighty* stiffer than the OEM TL-S but body lean is greatly reduced, tracks much flatter through corners and looks tasty to boot! It's low enough for my tastes although I wish that the OEM front rake was retained (like the H&R Sports)....but it sits level now. Otherwise, two big !

I'll be posting pix of my set up soon but I'm very pleased thus far!

The only negative is that rear negative camber is more pronounced...I may get an Ingalls rear kit later to correct it....we'll see.

would you recommend going with the ebach pro kit or h&r sport springs.

They are both great kits....you can't go wrong with either.
Check out Bearcat's thread in the Photo Gallery regarding his H&R set up on his WDP TL-S....looks great and he seems pleased with the performance. I was sold on the H&R Sports but we get a lot of snow up here and since my TL-S is my DD, I didn't want it to become a snowplow in the Winter so in the end I opted for the Eibachs. That extra 1/2 - 3/4" was the difference. Plus, I had an Eibach Sportline kit on a Talon ESi that I had years ago and was pleased with that as well.

But I did like how the H&Rs sat a touch lower in the front like OEM.

06SilverTL, if you're doing DIY, run the stockers till they crap out, even if it's a little earlier than normal. My *guess* is they'll last to or near their expected service life.

That's the bet I made with H&R Sports (few 10ths more drop than Comptech). So far (~3 or 4 months, no problems, no signs of problems, have only hit the bump stop once and that was in a nasty pothole.

Any "bounciness" in the ride with either the Eibach/Comptech or H&R?

I had a set of Teins H-Tech on my TSX with stock stut and the ride was horrible. Bounced all over the place when hitting bumps.

I have a 2007 TL-S.

Just took some pix of my car today with the Eibach Pro-Kit and my '04 A-Specs. I'll have more pix in the Photo section, but you get an idea of a 1" drop with the Eibachs/Comptechs.

Ride isn't "bouncy" or out of control at all....a little firmer than stock TL-S but way more controlled. Highly recommended mod.

Bounciness? uhhhm, no. Not on a TL-S with H&R Sports.

Man, those springs and the TL-S belong together like peanut butter belongs with jelly.

Ramrod, anymore pics? Im thinking about doing the same thing. I have aspecs as well, and torn between and aspec suspension or the eibachs. I seem to think that an aspec suspension is more sturdier and reliable. It seems that all you get with the eibach's are some springs. Is that enough to keep the quality of the car in place?

To be more specific, will the shocks wear out faster?

So basically getting the eibach springs put in will not compromise the quality of the car?

Absolutely not...like I've said, the ride is *slightly* stiffer than OEM. I'm also convinced that the OEM shocks will last almost, if not as long, as they would with the OEM springs. The drop is radical at 1" and there's slim chance of bottoming out. Additionally, the Eibach comes with lower bump stops to negate the possibility of bottoming out.
Anything lower than 2" and on, I would be a bit more concerned about the OEM shocks prematurely wearing. Although I had an Eagle Talon TSi years ago with an Eibach Sportline kit that dropped it almost 2". I ran the OEM shocks for 50K miles before I sold it and NEVER had an issue with premature shock wear.

thanks ramrod. I cant decide whether to go with eibach or the aspec. I guess getting the eibachs installed would be a lot cheaper. Which i could go for right now.

I have the same set up. Some will tell you that you need new high end shocks because the springs will make the shocks wear out faster. However, when the drop is only 1 in, and with 29k on the car you should be goos for a long time. I have been running my springs on my car for 10,000 miles and I have NO issues except for some rubbing every once in a while.

I don't think so. Installation of the A-Spec Coil-Over might even be slightly easier than spring only installation.

If the A-Spec comes with top hat, then you don't have to disassemble the old Shock/Spring. With springs only you *definetly* have to disassemble the shock/spring and replace the old spring.

Realistically, I'd expect install costs at a shop to be pretty much the same.

BUT the A-Spec costs more.

So, looking at parts only:

- Springs only = $200/$220

- A-Spec Coil-Over = ~$650

IF you add an aftermarke shock to the Springs only option later, that's another ~$600 in parts PLUS another install.

DIY (on any of the options) obviously trades Install $$ for your time.

Agreed...you wouldn't have to compress the spring to re and re with the A-Specs, so you would save some time and effort.

I was thinking of doing it with a buddy but in the end paid 3 hours to another friends shop to do the Eibach install. The biggest pain was removal of the rear seat and trim.
