Question Help - Wheels for 2004 TL 6MT and Brembo calipers

Hello all,

I need to replace my wheels/tires on my TL and have been browsing through the forum to get some ideas...I am not keen on lowering the car or making adjustments to the suspension. Since I need to replace the wheels and tires i thought the minimum upgrade i can give is an 18 inch decent looking wheel instead of the OEM 17 inch. Some of them fit with the calipers and some don't. I am looking to order online and all the options have left me confused and lost . $1400 is my budget for both wheels and tires.

Can some one please suggest a combo that fits my case?

Thank you.

This is what I would get. MB Wheels "Weapon" in 18x8 +30. This is a Japanese wheel made by A-Tech called the Eraser that is being imported by MB wheels to the US. They are sold through Discount Tire, but there are cheaper dealers to buy on ebay. The price is amazingly low for a high quality cast wheel. They come in bronze or Gunmetal. Discounttiredirect.com had the cheapest shipped price ($570) cause they have a $50 instant rebate.

^ your link doesn't work for me but I googled them and I personally wouldn't get them as they are not really that nice IMHO, but we can't know if they will fit or not without the offsets.

He wants to know if they will clear the caliper. There's really no way to tell this for sure unless someone else has tried it.

i'm not feeling the rzr rims...but...a 40 offset will be a tight fit. like millimeters tight. to be safe you can run a 5 mm spacer.

my enkei's have a 40 offset...theoretically they will fit without the spacer, but its really tight. didn't want to risk it and left the 5 mm spacer on.

How could possibly know that?

Stock rims are like +45 or something like that.

OP posted the rzr rims had a 40 offset.

my enkei's have a 40 offset (IIRC) i've tried putting them on the car without the spacer...its too close for my comfort. left my 5 mm spacer on.

yes stock is 45 offset.

You know....all things being equal, a 45 offset would have even less clearance than a 40. The fact is, it's all in the spoke design (not the offset). You won't know the clearance, till you try the wheels.

But as TLtriguirl said, you can always add spacers if the caliper is too close.

The higher the offset, the closer the spokes are to the caliper...

Adding wheel spacers effectively reduces the offset. Lower offset wheels stick out further.
