Help!! Rubbing in the rear???
Help!! Rubbing in the rear???
I have an 08 TL which i put 20" rims on.
my tire size is 235-35-20. Offset is 38+
Now i am having an issue with rubbing in the rear. When i go over bumps, or hard dips in the road i rub in the back. Now i don't know where it's rubbing.
Now reading the post on here i've been brusing on my back aspec kit. What am i suppose to do?
Is this where my rubbing is happening only?
Also i have the aspec spring kit to put on. The car sits well without changing it to the aspec spring kit, will this now cause more rubbing if i add it on?
Thanks for your help!

^ It's rubbing on the inside of the fender lining I would suspect. You're probably gonna need to change the tire spec. I'm running the same tires, and I'm dropped. Trying parking the car halfway up an incline and you'll probably be able to see where it's hitting. But you'll probably be able to see looking up into the wheel well. That tire size is about an 1" off stock spec in diameter. I'm gonna either run 245/30/20 or 235/30/20 next...
What's crazy is that I NEVER rubbed on the a-spec where every else rubs. I didn't have to trim it at all. But I still rubbed the fender with the OPs tire specs =(
Rodney is right, the tires are rubbing against the edge of the kit. You're rubbing because you're running a 35 profile with your 20s instead of a 30 profile.
Also the wheels might be rubbing against the last 1/4 section of the rear driver side fender edge. This happened to me when I ran overspec size tire and I was at stock height too.

OK, so i have a question!
I attmepted to look at my Apec kit and cut the kit in the inner wheel well, but it looks like i have to cut where it bolts to the car! How do i get around that. Would anyone have any pics of their mod of the back aspec kit??

Hey be careful! Rubbing in the rear can be dangerous! Especially if you end up liking it.
