Help!

I am looking to lower my ride (2004 TL) about an inch to an inch and a half. My budget doesn't call for coil overs (yet) and I'd like to do 18, maybe 19 inch rims. What are your suggestions for lowering the car and how much of a headache am I gonna have doing bigger rims with tires a little bit wider than sock, if not exactly as wide as stock.

Thanks!

Depends on the rim width but why go with a wider tire? A 1 inch drop isnt that big but normally you run a smaller tires to avoid rubbing. Youll still need a rear camber kit

Example: im lowered about 2 inched and im running 19 inch wheels with a 235 tire.

I'm used to muscle cars where a wide tire is something sexy. I'm starting to see its not as appealing to the imports. I researched some coilovers and I found a nice set up in my rang so ill do that, is a rear camber kit still required. I read a whole thread on how they are basically not needed.

If you dont want to replace tires every 5 months then get a camber kit

Wide tires are just as appealing to import guys. For some reason there is just quite a few guys on here that like to stretch side walls and put wheels that dont belong on a FWD car on their TL.

I went 1.2 down with Tein S-Techs and run a 19x8.5 235/35/19 and 19x9.5 265/30/19. Both are +35 and flush with no stretch!

I love love love wide tires on my ride!!

i'm running a 255/40/17 on stockies!
upgrading rimz to a 18x9.5 +22 soon. gonna stick with 255s or even go up to 265. not sure yet

I dropped mine on springs, and a year and half later im not happy.
the rear is a touch too high for my taste. if it were an inch lower, I would love it!!!

getting coils soon.

justn... with that offset and tire size you have to ride very stiff ... ( )

you def need a roll but you will also need a pull if you dont want to ride stiff.. if you had a smaller tire size you could probably get away with just the roll

1998, I am on 1.5 and I have no issues.. i do feel that I want to go lower but I am in the mental debate of performance versus looks.. and track performance not street
the biggest thing is you need to know your wheel offset and what tires you want... that plus your drop will help you find the answer of issues or not

I'm going for appearance I think 1.5 in the front and 2 in the rear with 19's and I have no clue about any kind of offset or what tire to run. I live in Ohio so putting the stock tires and rims back on is a must on the winter months. Any suggestions?

If you want a good quality lowering spring I'd recommend the H&R Sport springs. They will lower the car roughly 1.4" F and 1.3" R.

^What he said^ I had those on my Accord and loved them. Only gripe was the stiff ride. My Fiance hated them so I changed them out with S-Techs (Same Drop) and we are both happy!
