You're supposed to have snow tires, right? But, I guess the stock tyres ain't good, either.

I didn't feel bad about my EL42s... but many of 3GTL'rs dislike them... search them...

Is there a big different between snow tire and all season tire?

and does the snow tire works even on the ice???

Ice is the differnt "territory", IMO. But, the snow tires would be the key to help grip and control better during snow driving. These snow shoes would make those RWD be able to move better over snow with their fancy TCS/VSA features, too.

IMHO no tire is good on ice because there is no grip that the rubber could have to it. The only thing that help with ice is having chains on your tires

That is why I got rid of my Turanza EL 42's for Falken ZE-512's. They have much better traction in snow over the stock tires. But snow tires is the best route to take tho.
