Form/function suspension too low?

Hello everyone new to the forum. Just sold my Sti and picked up a 2004 acura tl. So first thing I did was get coilovers and some bbs lm reps. The thing I'm worried about is that my car is slammed and I'm not sure how much more I can raise it in the rear. I've never owned coilovers, usually I just install springs. Is there a limit that you can raise the car before the threaded shock comes out of the sleeve holding it in place? Or will it prevent me from raising it any higher. The reason I want to raise it is because I am rubbing on big dips or if I have people in the back seat. I wish I would have got the type 2 so I could ask the dampening to harder.

One other thought. I had a shop install them. I can plainly see that two of the shocks are longer than the other two. Is it possible that they could have installed the front shocks on the rear?

If your coilovers are maxed out on how high they can go in those pics, then the shocks are probably blown. But to answer your question, yes...the threaded shock body can "unscrew" from the lower sleeve and separate completely.

What coilovers do you have? How old are they?

the coilovers are brand new. i know they aren't blown. however after reading on random torus i have realized that one of the biggest complaints of form function coil overs are that they are made to slam your car. i wish i would have done more research ahead of time. i don't want to be slammed al the time. I'm seriously considering selling these and getting a set of tein.

I would highly recommend going with Tein, they are a perfect blend of comfort and quality. They can't go as low as other brands, but it doesn't sound like that will matter to you. The difference should be night and day compared to your F&F coils. The F&F's are known for having shitty ride quality and shitty build quality.

I love my Tein Basis coilovers. Function and Form coilovers have no function because they're made for slamming, and the quality is garbage.

woah whoah whoah... i have function& form coils and love them...how ever. you definatly need to stiffen up the spring rates. once you get that adjusted your set. my last set had 28k on them and rode like new.
