Excelerate Performance: TEIN Street Basis Coilover Released!!!

Excelerate Performance is proud to announce the release of the Tein Street Basis Damper's for your Acura. Applications will include the 2nd Gen TL/CL, 3rd Gen TL, 1st Gen TSX, DC2/4 Integra, and the DC5 RSX.

The Street Basis damper is the evolution of the popular BASIC coilover. Developed to provide a sporty ride feeling and aggressive stance. The shortened shell case design provides optimum damper stroke at lower than standard vehicle ride height. Vehicle ride height is adjustable via the ZT coated threaded sleeve. Updated internal components and external coatings increase durability and product life. This was one of Tein's major goals for the new model. Street Basis dampers are great for daily driving and spirited driving for all types of drivers.

Vehicle ride height is still adjustable via a threaded shock body and adjustable spring seat. The threaded sleeve is welded to the actual shock body and then Zinc coated for added protection. TEIN engineers have performed vigorous testing to ensure the best possible position and range of the spring seat to ensure the most adjustability. Aluminum spring seats are utilized to reduce ceasing of spring seat to threaded body, and for improved durability.

A Twin Tube internal design is utilized for increased piston stroke for improved handling and comfort during street use. Another major feature of the Twin Tube design is that is more durable in the case of damage to the actual damper body.

The concept behind Tein's Street Basis is to update their product lineup with their new technologies and components while providing a more attractive MSRP.

We will have these parts listed on the website soon as well as further updates!!!

If I read and interpreted this correctly, this is pretty much the new and improved Basic coilover correct?

If so, I may have to hop on a set. Any possibilities of a special release price?

I'd be interested in just exactly how much shorter the shock body is compared to the basics.

I love the way my car sits right now, but the number one problem that I have is that there is not enough suspension travel between the top of the valve body and the bottom of the bump stop. Didn't think this was going to be an issue buying an almost $500 set of shocks (Koni SP3's with H&R Race Springs), but it is.

This may be a good alternative if it's going to stop my bottoming out issues.
