Eibach coilovers or H&R coilovers

I made a thread a couple days ago about H&R coilovers for $825 well they have not responded to my email. I am debating on the eibach or h&r coilovers. Anybody have the eibachs that could give feedback? Thanks!!

^^^ i dont think eibach has coilovers however they do have springs which you can mate up with some good shocks such as tokico hp blues, koni yellow (sp3), or kyb struts (not sure??)....

h & r also has spring but i believe what you are quoting and describing on their part are TRU coilovers meaning they already come pre-assembled so all u have to do is drop them in....

try searching eibach springs tho and im sure ull get some feedback on the ride quality. i DO KNOW that when paired with some struts/shocks (OEM included) they have a tendency to have a "SAGGING" look to them as the rear looks lower than the front. however, when the eibachs are assembled with koni struts, u have the ability to alter the height settings using this particular strut. g' luck with ur find....hope this helps

For the money, TEIN is a better buy. The H&R coilovers offer the same thing as the Basics and they are $200 more. If you're looking for something firmer than OE with ride height adjustment get the TEIN Basics. PM me if you need pricing.

Thanks!! I will look at the Tein again. I thought the H&R were better than the basics because the tein used a twin tube design where as the H&R uses a mono-tube design which is supposed to be better. I could be wrong just stuff I have read.

H&R is going to be better than the TEIN just like Lexus will be Better than Acura however we buy what we buy because it a much better "value" and that is what Josh is trying to tell you.

I went with the TEIN SS and I'm happy and do no regret my decision. I can't comment on the other ones, however I have ridden in an H&R coilover and it was nice.. But its a known fact that H&R 's are better than TEIN.

Also make sure you compare apples to apples, if you are comparing the H&R Coilovers then you should be looking at the TEIN Basics. The TEIN SS is a totally different animal.. and I think is worth every penny.

Hey sorry for thread jacking but I have a question about eibach springs. I found some springs for accord and I was wondering if they would fit 05 TL. All the eibach springs I found have 1in drop and these say 2in on an accord and I wanna go lower then 1in.

Excelerate, I'm new to the site so I can't PM yet. I'm picking up my TL in NH this Friday, and I was hoping to get a price from you on a set of basics including shipping to Hartford, CT. You can e-mail me at jbmiller616 at gmail.com

Ideally I wanted to find a used set for sale, but I searched the BM to no avail.

I'm trying to decide between H&R and TEIN SS. I like the fact that the SS are damper adjustable, but with H&R being a better brand, I don't now which way to go. Any suggestions? Does the damper adjustment really make a big difference? I understand "value for your money", but I want to know that my suspension won't have to be dealt with in a good while. I've heard about the TEINs being noisy, how true is that?

I am in the same predicament, either the h&r's, which mike from ATLP has spoken very highly off, or the tein ss's which a few members have spoken highly of. Very tough decision, but I have a few months to decide

Myron-

You answered your own question. You are comparing two different products.
Eibach Pro Kit Springs lowers ~1.x" front / 1.x" rear
Eibach Sportline Springs are 2" front / 1.7" rear

Update..

After long thinking about what to do, either:
  • get rid of the MDX and turn to a BMW Alpina/ Porsche SUV but having to dish out a lot of additional cash to do so
  • keep the MDX and have a real good suspension custom made at still high cost, but lot less then buying another car..
And as I (somewhat surprisingly) still do really like the MDX..I decided to go for a custom suspension upgrade..

So since last weekend the MDX is at the workshop of a very reputable suspension specialist who makes custom suspension for race/rallye/ high end custom cars.
They will make a custom setup based on Öhlins shocks with specially made springs, all custom made to size to fit.
It will be a upside-down setup with both adjustable ride hight and adjustable combined bump/rebound damper settings, they will make full setup adjustment, but I will be able to make adjustments if I want to play with it a bit.

They measured/ investigated and tested the Megan (and as such BC as that is 99% the same) setup and were not surprised that it doesn't function.
At first they were somewhat surprised how it is possible to manufacture such a relatively good looking kit for such a low price, but after taking things apart they found out Megan/ BC produce something like a lego set, using more or less the same basic shocks and springs with all different mounting parts to fit to loads of different cars ....thus making really cheap production possible.

It turns out that the front Megan shocks have about 70mm free travel which isn't bad.....but when the wheels are on the ground, so load is on them... only 17mm ingoing suspension travel was left on the fronts to take up bumps, after that, they hit the bumpstops.
So now it is clear why the front suspension rattles like crazy and car is jumping all over the place when on bad road: it is hitting the bumpstops all the time

Due to the design time, custom production and lasercutting + corrosion protection of parts, building all together, testing and setup, it will be about 3 weeks to get things done.

Very curious what the difference will be..
