Door Sensor Issue - Not a faulty sensor

Hi all,
2005 TL
Have done some searching around but can only find one post that is similar to my issue:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/weird-problem-passenger-rear-door-sensor-902975/

Here is my issue and what I have done to troubleshoot so far: at all times my rear passenger side door states 'open' in my dash display. Cannot lock doors, etc. I am fairly positive it is not a faulty door sensor as I have moved the one from the door in question to other doors and it has worked fine. Any sensor I have plugged into that door wiring does not work..even when I manually press the switch all the way in myself. What is interesting is that while I raise the same door's window the message disappears on the dash and I am able to lock the doors. When I release the window up button it thinks it is open again (message displays, etc.). I have looked at the window fuses..they look fine. Sometimes I am unable to get the window to operate at all. I am starting to think this has something to do with the wiring in the door and or the fuse box or the like. Maybe it is getting wet? I did have my windshield replaced a few years ago. Any ideas?
thanks in advance for your help

Definitely sounds like a short in the wiring, take the door apart and check all the wires
