Donut rubbing caliper

I hit a massive crater on the highway last night and put my spare on the left front. My car wouldn't move and I took a look today and it appears that the donut was hitting the caliper and locking the wheel up. It appears to be the factory spare- now I need to find a wheel/tire for my front.

YOu sure nothing else is damaged? If your donut is rubbing brake there is something really wrong...The factory donut should not rub any part of the brake system.

The donut is probably from an A/T if yours is a 6MT. Put the doughnut on the rear and the rear on the front, providing they aren't staggered or some exotic offset.

As you can see 6 MT 17" wheel, A/T 16" wheel:

My spare is a 16. I mounted it on the back and puit the rear tire on the front. Spins alike a drunken fat girl now. Tempted to buy some rims since I have replace 2 tires and 1 rim.

Yes, they are very different. It's a 8 or 10 spoke wheel...

Not only that, the 16" A/T wheel is around $60 list while the 17" wheel is $360, in round numbers.

Not sure about the later years but I thought the TL with Dynamic package (MT) retailed higher than the TL with Premium package (AT) in the first few 3G model years. And as far as I can tell the MTs sell for a bit more in the used market too, so there is an additional cost for these extra "goodies".

Back in 2004 the 5AT and the 6MT were the same price $32650. Only option, other than the A Spec, was navigation an extra $2000, or high performance tires on the 6MT +$200.

Even the TLS- AT and MT same base price $38225 with the high performance tires still +$200.

I would assume Acura considers it to be a wash, AT vs. 6MT, although I believe the AT would be more expensive when checking the individual prices.

The donuts are very easy to put on backwards by mistake especially if you were in a hurry and it was getting dark....
