Deciding between 18's and 19's

I've been looking around and I can't really find a picture of 18's compared to 19's.
Basically, I'm planning on getting Stance SC-5's on my '06 TL. I decided to go with SC5's instead of CV3's because of price, I like the little lip that the SC5 has, it makes it a little bit deeper. Idk i like it. I read about the performance difference and I understand that the Vossen would be better for that reason but for now I like what I decided on.
What are your suggestions on the size? and if you can, pictures also ! Please and thank you!

^performance difference??

look at tire prices to help you decide. Money is a factor because you stated you wanted to save a little.
19s with a drop is pretty sexy.
18s with a drop is pretty sexy.

basically, it comes down to your preference and what you want to spend

if your concerned about price you should price 19" tires!

Rotational intertia and unsprung mass is what I believe OP referring to and I agree with your statement.

concerned about price with a staggered setup and contemplating 19's is just ass backwards. concerned about performance and contemplating larger heavier wheels is backwards as well. lightweight 17's with consistent wheel and tire sizes would be appropriate to meet your goals.

Not feeling those wheels on the TL..They look kinda cheap on the TL...Accords can pull them off...Get you some 19's with a lip...Or some 18's without a lip....

sorry for the hellah weird confusion and stuff. I'm really new to the car scene, and I've been looking around. One of my friends suggested I go staggered or 10.5 all around. I decided to go staggered because I personally thought that looked better. I'm confident that the wheels would look nice so I'm sure about getting these.
and to justnspace when I mentioned performance I meant that when I read about these wheels being compared to Vossens they mentioned how they vibrate a little over 80 mph but I don't drive like that often and even if I do I shouldn't be anyway on top of being low so it'd be like a warning to myself anyway.
I don't track so I'm going on straight on looks. And for price. I don't mind replacement tires etc, it's the initial extra with Vossens. Which is about almost 1k more and .. well no.

so right now I'm thinking of 19's but do you think if I run 19's with a 1inch drop, they'll rub or make it undriveable? or should I run 18's.

On 10.5's ?? good luck with that. your friend doesnt know. No one can tell you anything because you havent given us enough information. what is the offset? Your concerned about 1K? like I said you better price the 19" tires. you cannot rotate them either so that 1K will be gone real soon.

And you personally think that a staggered setup looks "better" on a FWD car?

without offsets and tire sizes no one can tell you about how much fender work your going to need. Next you will be stretching a 215 on that 10.5!

Dude, do your research...There are other members running those wheels staggered..Doesnt look so good...Look to big and cheap...Im not against Vossens as I use to own a set...You can get a staggered look with different offsets running same width..I ran 19x9.5 et 31 front and 19x9.5 et 22 rear and enjoyed the stability on all 4 corners with a staggered look...

I dont mean to jack this thread but your setup is pretty much what i wanted to do but in 18's... did you have to roll your fenders?

Well, Batman and Robin reunite at last.

I had 19's...went with 18's. I wanted more concave, more contrast, more cheap tires, lighter setup and slightly more forgiving ride.

19's

18's

yeah, those nankangs will likely have great treadlife, but be very loud and terrible in the rain.

That black wheels were a 225/35 on a 19 x 9"

You don't need to run 225's unless you are dropped lower then 1.8 inches.. Would do 235/35/19's...

I don't know the roads you're on but I have 18's and I have bent them all. It's not that hard. I would be scared s*** to drive on 19's with the road conditions of my state (NJ).

If that were the case, I'd stick with 17's. Or raise car up and run a 45 series tire on the 18. If roads are that bad where you live, you'll need the extra rebound a little more rubber will give you before the rim feels the stress.

My enkei's are 18x9.5 +38 all around, at first i was thinking 225/35 because i really wanted a nice stretch but then i realized that was a little much for these horrible NJ/NYC streets so i went with 225/40 and i am extremely happy and still have nice stretch with a comfortable ride.

Just because you went with a thicker sidewall doesn't mean you are in the clear of wearing out your tires faster..Stretching is for Flush and Low setups...To each his own.
Pics would be nice
