Correct Tire Pressure?

Hello all,
I have a 06 6mt question about the tire pressure...what should it be? I run about 37 in the fronts and 33 in the back. Would that be a problem? What do u guys/gals run/recommend?
thanks in advance!

Check your owner's manual. It has the manufacturer's recommended tire pressure in it.

Then you can adjust it by raising or lower it, depending on how you like the car to ride and handle.

On that note, 37F/33R isn't a bad setup. I usually run 35/33 during the summer and 37/35 in the winter.

tires pressure go up about 3-4 PSI on average on a normal day...on long distance driving or real hot day they can go up 5-6 PSI so whatevr you put in the tires make sure you compensate for this...i know this from reading the measurement from 06 loaner TL with TPMS....and i believe the max pressure for EL42 is 40 PSI...not sure

Exactly why you are supposed to take a reading and adjust it only when the tires are cold.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Acura recommends 35 front and 32 rear for 6MTs. That's what I keep on my '05 6MT with Michelins. I'm not sure why but I think they recommend 32 front and 32 rear for the automatics.

You are exactly correct.. at least for the '04 manuals and the '05 automatics. I know.. I have one of each.

Hard to figure out why they specify 32 for front and rear for the auto's, but the wear patterns support their recommendation, as does the 35 front and 32 rear for the manual.

I picked up a new '06 AT a couple of weeks ago. I think the specs on the drivers door calls for 33 front and 32 rear.

So if the manual says 35/33 for stock tires, if we get aftermarket tires whose max pressure cold is 50psi, should we be running the psi of stocks?

Yes. If you are replacing your stock tires with direct OEM replacement tires (use TireRack for a good source), you should inflate to the recommended pressure listed on the label of the driver's side door frame.

If the tires are not direct replacements (as in a different size), start with the factory recommendation and pay close attention to wear and handling.
