Coilovers installation

I have a 2007 acura tl base 98k miles. I want to know what do I need to do before installing coil overs on my car without ruining anything. I plan on getting coil overs next month. Any experienced help is appreciated.

Anything and everything you need to know can be found in here. It's best to search in there and if it isn't covered, then you can open a new post

to make your life easier, i'd buy full coilovers(shocks+springs+top hats) that way you just swap in and out without messing with a spring compressor. it'll cut your time doing it in half.

DesertMist is 100% correct.

I will continue to plug HeelToe on their pre-assembly of the Tein Street Advance Z's I got. You'll have to buy new OEM tophats, but assembly was only $40. Only having the weekend to do the work and accounting for Murphy's Law, I did not want to be fumbling around with compressing the old springs and assembling the coilovers. It was worth the extra money I spent for the time it saved, for me.

However, with the extra money I spent on the pre-assembled, it may have been better to get the Tein Street Flex.

Use the guides here and you should be fine. Fronts are really easy, remove the top hat bolts and then it's only two bolts on the strut. Rears are a little more difficult, but remove the brake line bracket all the way and they also come out quite easily. Top hat bolts and 3 bolts, I believe. If I had to do it again, I could probably do all 4 in around 2 hours, but it took my probably 5 the first go 'round.

WITHOUT ruining anything? That's not fun. But here you go:

Off topic but other things to look out for is the 105k maintenance, since you are getting pretty close to it.
Also, you might want to get a camber kit if you plan on going super low. It will help with tire wear. Get an alignment after install too!

if you do decide to not go with a full coilover, be sure to rent a spring compressor from autozone. basically free when you bring the tool back.
