Coilover Install: TEIN Street Basis

With a lot of help from a fellow aziner, I got my TEIN Street Basis (w/ Typs-S rubber bushings) installed. The ride quality is very good from what I've experienced so far. No complaints at all. Also, once I get my fenders rolled, I'll be lowering it about another 1/2".

Thanks bud.

The install went pretty smooth except for one of the lower shoulder bolts on the fork...it was pretty seized up. It took us well over an hour to get it removed...it was a total bitch to get out! Thank goodness for pb blaster!

Thanks Tyler!

Ur good without them at the moment...your ride sits pretty low with your springs.

thanks.

no they're vertini...but i was looking at the vossen's you're likely thinking about, but i didn't like the design of their spokes - they're completely flat, whereas the vertini's are slightly convex...which i liked better. quality-wise though, the vossens are much better than the vertini's...hence why they're $100 more per wheel. just fyi...

I might have the vossens this weekend but I'm a lil afraid of the 20 x 10.5 rear wheels fitment and I will be dropping my car only on springs for now hopefully it wouldn't ended up looking like a 4x4 lol

well that side shot of my car is pretty much identical to how the vossen's will look, and as i stated, they are pretty high quality wheels. my buddy has them on his G37 and he is very pleased with the setup.

as for the 10.5 in the rear, i've primarily only seen this with 19" wheels so i'm not sure how you'll make out. the correct offset will be rather key. i have 20x8.5 +35 (all the way around) and i rub on my rear fender with a drop not much more than you will get from a nice set of springs.

on a side note, the 4x4 look will drive you absolutely insane and you'll have to certainly drop the car immediately after getting new wheels. i literally ended up taking off my 20's and putting my stock stuff back on until i got it lowered...it looked that bad.

thanks! yeah i'll likely have to get all 4 worked. since my setup has had a chance to settle a bit, i rub in the fronts just a bit. there's a plastic piece in the front wheel wells that i rub on that i can trim myself but anything beyond that i'll have to have done.

Looks good. These new TEIN Street Basis coilovers are the perfect coilover at a reasonable price.

here's a closer up photo that shows the ride height a little better. it looks like there is a gap in the front but it's just a shadow. the tire is actually slightly tucked under the fender. i measured the drop at a little over 1.75".

i know...the car is very dirty
