Can't trust the shop, your thoughts?
Given the whole camber kit uneven wear thing, I need to change my front tires presently (inside edges 99% totally bald). I've just been going with a suggested tire by America's Discount Tire Company, and I was hoping for suggestions on a good tire for a wet climate (Oregon) that won't wear off my car too easily but aren't bloody expensive as I don't take this thing to the track and will probably put under 15,000 more miles on this car before I regretably look to hop to subaru (damn outdoor lifestyle). What tire brands and models would you go for, for Oregon driving, on a budget? (I'm only replacing the fronts)

Define your budget and your overall requirements....otherwise the recommendations will be all over the place. There are lots and lots of threads discussing tires already with 100s of varying opinions. There are a few that have been general favorites over the past few years like the DWS-06 that are generally well liked and priced decently. But plenty of other options out there.
Some of the more recent favorites:
- DWS-06
- GMAX AS-05
- P Zero AS+
- Cinturato P7 AS+ (note, wet performance test results on tirerack appear to be lacking compared to the other tires I listed)

Essentially I'm looking for as inexpensive as possible while lasting more than 20,000 miles and having good ability to deal with normal-ish driving (a bit on the aggressive side) in heavily wet weather. If I have to pay more for a non-shit tire I'll definitely do so, but have just been going on the recommendation of my tire shop for a long time, and feel I could probably do better than that in price and or quality.

The first three I posted meet your requirements, unless you are really chasing cheap into the sub-$100 ranges which I avoid like the plague. I personally run the P Zero AS+ since I wanted wet/dry performance over winter performance since I have dedicated winter tires. Others swear by the DWS06, and many the AS-05. There are gobs of options in the $100-125 per tire range. Suggest going out on tirerack and looking at their various test results if you want to dig into the options more.

Much appreciate the input all. I'm hoping to go through discount tire co and push them on prices so they'll do the install and balancing (my wheels have thrown off most of their balancing weights, and I just don't want to deal with the process in this case).
