Black painted calipers with photos

I just painted my calipers black and am posting pictures to see what people think. Sorry for the stock wheels, the weather is still not that good yet to put on my wheels.

These are the wheels that will be going back on in about 2 weeks. I will post more picks of the calipers with these wheels then.

Can't wait to see the painted calipers after installing the bigger rims....Are those 18's or 19's? I've been thinking of painting my calipers too and getting a new drilled/slotted Rotors....

I went with the VHT paint and the wheels are 19". I was thinking of clearing my headlights, but that can cause water leak problems with the seals.

Hey thanks. Perfect timing since my G2 black caliper paint is in transit to my house right now, no kidding really. I only need to do the rear and I have OE rims so your pics are just what I wanted to see. I just need a few days with reliably warm enough temp to do the job.

Did you do any disassembly ? I'm thinking of taking off the callipers and separating the mounting bracket so I can get everything really clean and every area painted well.

Think a white "ACURA" decal would look good across the mounting bracket or on the caliper ? To match my front Brembos. This guy could probably fab them Link

and yeah, your other wheels are very slick.

Great job, I did the same mod on my '02 RSX-S and came out pretty good, now I think and hope to still have some left over in the can and will (when it gets warmer) do the rear calipers on my TL....

Looks good! I like the back vs. any other loud color. It brings attention, but not too much.

Just painted mine last night. I used the G2 paint sent from Tire rack. The black looks good with the Anthracite.

Interesting ... I didnt realize how much the black paint would hide the calipers on the stock wheels. Perhaps because the wheel is so bright by comparison.

My factory wheels are chromed, which may throw off the look. They have finger prints on them from removing the wheels. I do agree the black paint hides the calipers well, which is why I chose black paint over red or yellow.

Spider0079, nice rims!!

Talking chrome or silver

Spider, those are great looking rims. Are they chrome or silver (look silver but want to make sure) and where did you find the best price?? Can you also tell me the complete size you did? I'm new to adding rims and want to make sure they don't rub, etc. Thanks!

The black callipers look good! I'm thinking of doing this as weel. Did you guys use the kit with the paint brush or the engine paint spray bottle?

I used the VHT Caliper paint which is a spray on paint. I am happy with the results. If you use this paint you need to put on a few coats.

nice job spider, that is my project for tomorrow, my front calipers are pretty rusty and my TSX is only an 04. Massachusett winters ruined them pretty quickly. So I have a feeling that the prep work to get the calipers clean is gonna take me a little while but I know the finished product is going to look so mutch better. Since i bought some aftermarket wheels that are mesh style the rusty calipers are much more visable than with the OEM wheels. i'll post pics when mine is done too.

I have a 05 TL so I don't have the tire pressure system. Once you change your wheels I do not think the system works unless there is a way to take the thing off your old wheels and transfer it to your new wheels and have it work. If so it would be hard to balance becasue the stock wheels have gap in the rim to allow for even weight with the TPMS. As for the ride it is rougher, but my car is also lowered. I don't mind a rougher ride and I seem to have to problem with the tires.

i dont understand why u would paint the front calibers with the white acura already tagged on them. the acura name on the calibers is badass. i could see painting the back ones black to match the front since they are just a metal look.

If you are referring to the Brembo's on the MT cars that come painted black with the white "ACURA" already on them... yes I don't see why you would paint those either.

I've love my black Brembo's!

It looks to me like he has a AT and not a MT!! The AT doesn't have the Brembros on it.

I'm well aware of the fact the manual trans has the Brembos, and it's very easy to tell the difference between the 4-piston Brembo's and the single piston calipers on the auto.

I was replying to a post (which is quoted). The guy was saying he doesn't know why somebody would paint the calipers that already have the white "Acura" painted on them (meaning the Brembo's) on the manual. I suggest you re-read before trying to tell me the difference between the Brembo's and the single pistons. I even put on my post (that you quoted) "Brembo's on the MT car". You need to chill out with your "!!!" there killer. Your post looks like you were wanting to show me up really bad, or something.
