x 2.

I have the Potenza RE970AS Pole Positions now-- they replaced a set of Advan S.4 tires. The RE970AS are similar, but seem stickier in the dry and more predictable at the limit(in autocrossing) than the Advans.

I don't have a Type S, though.

Yes, my Advan S.4 and Potenza RE970 are all-season tires, NOT summer tires.

The Advan AD## and Potenza RE## and RE0## are summer tires.

Awesome. Great info. I have four round tires that say Michelin. I like them. You should get them also. They are the bestest.

We need more of these threads. They are great. Anyone know when I should change my timing belt? What about break pads for my Brembos?

Why change a timing belt when you have a digital clock in the car? Are "break pads" kinda like knee pads for your car?

There are multiple new tire threads weekly on here that usually cover the same thing over and over and over and over again.......and well, at times I can be quite the Jackass.

You didn't say what you were looking for in a tire, nor did you specify what specific model you were looking at. Pointless post without all of the details, hence the reason I said you should get four round tires made by Michelin. They are the bestest.

See, they are asking you for the missing info.

And they are pointing out there are specific models within the mentioned brands and product lines.

So helpful. My car had Bridgestone's when I bought it. They were not the bestest.

Getting closer.

Items still missing to be a useful tire thread:

- What are you looking for?
- Wear?
- Noise?
- Performance?
- Weather abilities?
- Price?

And what normally gets posted in all of the other tire threads that get started:

- By this brand, they are the bestest
- This brand sucks
- This one time, I had this one brand of tire and it was great!
- My friend had these other tires, and they were horrible.
- Go read the reviews for each and look for official reviews
- Determine what is important to you and pick from there

Seriously, read the reviews on the various tire sites to find the normal complaints and such on the tires you are looking at. Usually if a tire has common issues, the ratings and reviews will more than likely cover it. There are lots of threads on this site with opinions for many tires as well.

For performance, NT05, RS3, Star Specs. You really don't have to look any farther than those 3 if best dry traction is your goal.

RS3 is not just a little better, it's in a whole different league than those two. That's of course assuming traction is most important n

lol seriously

Not sure why you would want to get RS3s or Direzzas for the TL unless you are tracking or just like to burn money.

The treadlife on those two tires are garbage.

If you want grip and don't want your tread to evaporate or want to wet your legs when it rains get the Michilen Pilot Super Sports

Out of all the extreme performance tires I'd still choose the Direzzas over the RS3. Especially the new Direzzas (Direzza II)
