Anyone unhappy with their TEIN SA drop?

I realllllly want to pull the trigger on these coilovers

The comfort and proven reliabilty is the main selling point for me but I'm scared I won't be satisfied with the drop.

Is it possible to tuck tire with the coils?? I don't want a SLAMMED car, but I do want *atleast* NO wheel gap on OEM type S tires//rims (may eventually do the 255/40 tires). Would no wheel gap on the TEINS be pushing max drop and I will run into issues?

I also been considering the XLR8 ISC coils, but it all comes back to a comfort and reliabilty issue. Can the reliablity compare with TEIN? I know they offer a street//comfort spring rate, but is that going to be all floaty?

Somebody please answer my prayers and show me pics of their car tucking tire comfortably on TEIN SA and makes my dreams come true lol

For your goal you can go with the Tein SA's. They won't go as low as the ISC's do, but you're not looking for that anyway.

I have the ISC N1's with the street comfort spring rates and no it is not floaty. I have mine on full stiff and they ride great and aren't harsh at all.

I know it's not a pic of the Tein SA's but here is one of my car on the ISC since I have stock rims on. I am 24" from ground to fender in the front and 24 1/4" in the rear.

I LOVE my Tein SA coils!

My wheel setup is 18" with 235/40 tires.

I have about 1" left up front and about .5" in the rear. I have no gap with this setup.

Tein states they lower 2.9" front and 2.6" rear, they by no means slam the car but it's plenty low if you're not going that route.

With your stockies, you'll have to lower more than me but killing the wheel gap is possible.

I have no experience with tein coils.

The ISC if you like a stiffer ride get the street/sport.

I like the ISC, have a slight tuck and have way more room to go. Will be going full stiff when I remove back seat again. I would have gone a little softer with the street sports.

For what you want to achieve teins sound fine. But if you have any inclination of moar low that I recommend the ISC as well.

I'm interested in getting these coils for my TSX as well. I hear they go lower than the Super Street's. I wish I could find someone that has them all the way low.

Teins are the best coilovers on the market. I have them and they are amazing! You never hear of anyone thats really had any problems with them. Quality product. My Tein basics are maxed out and they are plenty low. Heres a pic of them maxed out:

From what ive read, the SS and SA coils are the same. only difference is a 200% damper difference. (stiff will feel 2x stiffer, soft will feel 2x softer, than the SS). Ride height is the same

also on youtue if you type "tein ss acura tl" theres a video of a black one with max drop, and i could live with that if it isn't too much of the coils being that low.

as a matter of fact, can anyone else reading this check that vid and tell me if riding the teins that low will do anything? or can the teins handle them fine? that the kind of drop im looking for...!

edit - here ill make things easier for those willing to help me

^^

saw this video today and it might just have made up my mind

hows your ride quality with the oem tires//drop? what dampening settings? did you have to roll fenders? spacers? camber kit?

thank you guys a ton for the input

Im sold on the TEIN. absolute worst case scenario, they should be fairly easy to sell if it comes to that

The only time a bottom out is when i hit huge pot holes. The ride quality is actually really good considering im all the way down on the coilovers.

Really good. My TL is my daily and they ride really comfortable. Very good, quality coilovers. In my opinion, best on the market.

vtak2nr - I am around a 2.5" drop in the front and about 2 1/4" in the rear. I like the rake look, so I always have the rear set a bit higher than the front.

Ride quality is very impressive, better than stock!.......check my tein thread out everything you want to know will be there....my dampening is set at 10 clicks from stiff all around

Ingalls Camber kit installed in the rear but not really necessary...just make sure you align your car

Still fine tuning my ride height to get it the way I want it.

But this is ISC N1's street/comfy. I will be getting the sport springs very shortly.
