any experience with spacers?
I decided to post in the main forum because my problem is a broad one . Do spacers mess up your ride? have a 6MT and the wheels i LOVE dont EVER fit over the huge ass brembos! This problem alone makes me :almost: wish i had gotten a 5AT.
I really want the TSW kyalami 20 x 8.5's that 1quiktl has on sale in the BM but he says i will possibly need a 1/16th spacer. What will that do to ride quality? What about lugs? Give me any main concerns ....

I have had spacers from day one, installed by my dealers aftermarket wheel shop. I've never measured them, but they are no more than 1/16th thick. They were attached with some type of sealant so they don't fall off or shift when I rotate or do the winter swap out. 20k miles and no issues. And I have driven rather aggressively with them. As long as you don't go too thick and lose lug grip, you should be fine.

I've tried spacers on wheels before and it helped with a clearance issue, but it made the wheels feel like they werent quite on as tight as before. almost subtle at most speeds, but more pronounced at freeway speeds. based on that single experience, and what i have heard from others, i would not recommend spacers unless you are not an anal type and dont really care about the negative aspects.
I would recommend that you get some forged wheels custom made to fit over the brembos. This will ensure you get a solid, accurate fit, and dont run until more trouble than its worth. It will cost you more, but you will get piece of mind. I recommend www.modularewheels.com, although i dont have brembos, they have done a number of manual TLs as well, with great results.
